Greetings from north Idaho. I bought my Woodland 126 mill right after I lost my wife of 27 years four years ago. . It’s been my therapy. I built a platform shed for it and finished an addition to my shop. I also made trim boards for my house. Hopefully this summer a hay barn . Love your videos!

Always enjoy the opening scenes with all the animals. Katie, you have gotten very skilled at picking with the fork. You got that first log like you'd been doing it for 20+ years. Awesome, nice work Katie! Greg , I agree that you are one of the luckiest guys on the earth for the very reasons you mentioned. You guys are awesome but the some of your parts definitely exceed you each individually. It was nice seeing you both, along with the animals, enjoy the sun and warm weather provided that day. It was definitely a welcome gift for you all. You got a lot of milling done and I know that must have made you feel good and that you accomplished a lot. I am looking forward to seeing you put it all to work in upcoming projects. Have a blessed week ahead and be safe. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

Even if you have to buy the logs, it’s worth it if you’re building a house and out buildings. Don’t forget if you buy the wood, you have to load and unload it after you drive both ways. So if you add labor and gas, it’s so worth it without question. Plus if you mill the wood it will be more beautiful wood and you can cut whatever size you want/need. Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸🦅 No Snow Just Breeze !

Hi folks. If the pallets are turned upside down and the notches are lined up with the fork width, the load can be set down and not be touched. Some support may need to be placed between the pallets. If the lumber is stickered as it is cut, it will not need to be touched when it is placed on the pallets for drying. A truck driver does a pre-trip to include checking the oil, coolant (lubrication) and fuel. This way, he is ready to go. Have good days!

I love the milling. What I would do is use the biggest pieces of wood from that, it's beautiful and so massively impressive to city folk like me if I saw that in a home build because all we get is tiny cuts. Cabins and off grid homes should show the beauty and strength of huge wide logs, milled 8 inch boards used inside the house. That's how I would do it. Suggestion- merch should have Katie on it, the picture of one of your dogs and their name on it, name and picture of one of your goats. Love the channel edit- love the 11 inch cuts, on the pallets put them 2 pallets wide so you can pick them up with your forks

Greg you are both very lucky to have such a wonderful life together! Katie is a rock and so are you. That saw mill is a great thing. During the Great Depression in America in the early 1930’s my grandfather and his brother Walt bought property on a lake outside of Munising Michigan and I’m wondering how they milled their woods to build four homes? I know they built a cinder block workshop. I know in those days it was hard work and they hauled the lumber into Munising to the saw mill to have it kiln dried. This is now a Kimberly paper products factory. I love your videos, great stuff!

I’ve got the LX25 Woodmizer mill. It’s got the 9-1/2hp motor and is a manual mill like yous. Easy to run and gives a person some pride in making one’s own lumber. I extended the rails too so that I could cut 22’ lumber. That’s the nice thing about these mills. You can add sections and mill a full length tree if you wanted to. 😊 I do have my own timber. So worth it to me. Getting the mill, spare parts, tooth setter, blade sharpener, and extra sections cost me just under $4K. Bought it in 2021. 😊

We are having a string of 4 or 5 sunny days here in northeastern PA with highs of 45 to 50 degrees F. I think I saw a robin today but I'm not sure as it was a momentary sighting on a wire as I drove past. Glad to see you back on the mill getting lumber cut for future projects. Katie is getting to be a pro like Greg loading logs unto the tractor forks. Love your videos and look forward to each one.

You should have stickers on the ends of your stack and every 12 inches.

Katie, when starting to load stuff withe the forklift tynes first approach those stacked logs in particicular with a slight down tilt so that the tyne’s tips go under the top log enough to get a grip of the whole thickness of the log. Then change the angle to above the horizontal. To let the log roll back to you, making the load more secure.
It’s SL lot easier to lift the log rather than attacking it from the side!
In my business that’s how I used to train new F/L users.

Wish gas can nozzles were longer and flexible and included a valve. 😮 😊
