  • The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine was thrilled to continue its Artist-in-Residence Program featuring musician-composer Charlie Rauh of New York City. He is the second artist-in-residence; the first was a visual artist, Shelby Prindaville of Sioux City, Iowa.
Charlie's residency ran Aug. 15-Sept. 15, 2023. It culminated in a concert featuring music he will compose while in residence.
To experience Charlie Rauh’s music, go to charlierauh.com.
For further information, please contact Sandra Sarr, Communications Manager, at sarr1@lsu.edu or call (225) 578-9005.
While in residence, Charlie composed and recorded eight songs available for LSU School of Veterinary Medicine’s use and released by Destiny Records. Songs were inspired by Charlie's experience in residence at LSU Vet Med including within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Stephenson Pet Clinic.
Charlie interacted with the LSU Vet Med community and drew creative inspiration from encounters that make up the day-to-day work of LSU Vet Med. These experiences influenced the music he wrote. He collaborated with members of the LSU A Capella Choir on musical compositions and performances.

As a huge fan of Charlie Rauh (his mom:) and his art, being able to listen to other peoples perspective him and his music is so wonderful! Years ago, when he was around 3/4 yrs old we experienced our first CICADA INVASION, while out for a "crunching" walk he declared "the cicadas were his brothers"...perhaps that's where it all started!
