- Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed has died aged 94.
The former owner of Harrods has died 26 years to the day after his son Dodi Fayed was killed in a car crash alongside Princess Diana in 1997. Sources told the MailOnline that Al-Fayed died on Thursday night, and that Janazah (funeral) prayers were held at the mosque on Friday.
He was buried after Friday prayers following a service at Regent’s Park Mosque in London, according to reports from Al Jazeera Egypt.
In the past few decades, Al Fayed - who was worth around £1.3 billion at the time of his death - sold off numerous high profile businesses including his beloved Harrods in 2010 for an eye-watering $2.4billion.
In 2013, he also said goodbye to Fulham Football Club, which he sold to billionaire Shahid Khan for $300m. However he remained the proud owner of the famous Ritz Paris Hotel until his death.
Mr. Al Fayed was known for his continued search for answers to questions surrounding the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana on August 31 1997.

Inspite of his vast wealth and status, he died a broken heart man, couldn't overcome his belief in conspiracies regarding his son's death and not being accepted by the British establishment.
