- Chris Hedges and Robert Scheer discuss the Founding Fathers, FBI surveillance of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the persecution of Chelsea Manning in this sweeping conversation.
Much love gentlemen you are an inspiration for all future journalists...
Dear Chris and Robert, this civil exchange between both of you was the most enlightening, informative and thought stimulating one I have ever viewed in my 75 years. Two honorable men, not always in agreement, but rock solid on historical principles of Justice and Liberty and Truth. Phenomenal interview! Mr. Scheer, I have already ordered your book from Barns & Noble. I will occupy a sacred space on my bookshelf. Thank You!, Thank You! Most Respectful Regards to both of you!, Dave
When injustice becomes law
Resistance becomes duty

This series deserves millions of viewers. It hasn't lost its relevance after seven years...
Well said Bob..."Truth," regardless of its vehicle for emergence (say the elite oligarchy or Martin Luther King), shall prevail...if, and only if, we as individuals hold it dear in our hearts, which we do, along with you, not naievely, but knowingly that this shall always prevail; and, especially in this day and age of Spiritual Recruedecence--Our Spiritual Renaissance.
Thank you for you being you!
The first 4;37 is an extraordinary soliloquy. You can only admire Hedges for his knowledge and insight along with the remarkable ability to articulate it so fluidly.
This country will not change for the better by talking. That time is done!
I agree that Hedges is probably the most important journalist in the world and on top of it, he is an ethical vegan which speaks volumes to me and which is the icing on the cake.
Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden are heroes.
Unsupportable optimism can make a fool out of an intelligent man or woman. I see/hear it everyday. What a drag. At least C.H. challenges this, otherwise I would have stopped listening a few parts ago!
The constitution was a document of its day and the more radical leaning of Tom Paine and those of William Penn's Pennsylvania ( who where both quackers) where discarded. But our present day ( to be sure they where great documents but lacking) worship of these documents constitute a graven image and is ironically at odds with the other document that this country professes to hold dear the Bible.
mathew idicula It's a good feeling to hear someone else say what you have been saying and thinking especially when you rarely hear it.
Hear Bob Dylan's tribute to Tom Paine, "As I went out one morning", on his John Wesley Harding album. 🤔 (from Green Fire, UK) 🌈🦉
R. Scheer is living in the past, relying too much on a "living" document that is subject to varying interpretation by any existing judiciary. He comes across to me as a bit of a romantic and idealist, hoping that history and idealism instead of recognizing reality will make the future better.
And WE all get our RIGHTS from God's Natural Law...not a government and man made laws...These are in place for those irresponsible for their own behavior and lives...including the 'elites'. Nature has a way of balancing out in the end, and God is the ultimate...above and beyond those on Earth who believe they are 'gods'. Freedom and Liberty is not a given, it is earned and we all must work and fight for what is Truth!
Miss the days when milk was delivered like the mail.... Except the milk came in glass bottles and was not perverted or corrupted.... Thank you, this work is appreciated.
In my opinion it is very important to talk about the technical revolution and it's consequences. It has become just to easy to violate the individuel rights. And because of these really different conditions you have to think about a new system.
Long live freedom and democratic communism
I'm all about double entendres, sometimes triple.Good luck figuring me out.Lol
We need to criticize both the broken Left-Wing elements who oppose participation in Electoral Politics & Right-Wing fascists who do not stand up for the U.S. Constitution and those beave souls who exercise their humane rights.
It's almost biological that one mass of organisms will fight another mass over scarce resources. Nation-states always form from the conquests of weaker peoples. The Welsh were overwhelmed by the Romans and later by the Norman conquest. The Occitans were overwhelmed and conquered by the Capetian dynasty to the North. And like the American Indians their languages are slowly dying out. The number of practicing Cathars is very low. Very little survives of the Welsh country-nature religion. Like the natives of America these tribal cultures, religion, and folkways are disappearing. So It is regrettable, but I don't feel European-Americans are especially egregious in extinguishing another ethnic group's culture, language, or religion. I feel that Hedges is getting too much into identity politics on this one.
