Had a good friend who was living in Gretna. West Bank. I didn’t mind the hood. Of course I was only there twice two weeks t a time. To me everyone was chill.
Yes it does. I lived there for over 10 years and it was explained to me was that that smell was the smell of New Orleans. It smells bad because it's below sea level and the city doesn't drain well (they have to use pumps). I am glad I don't live there anymore.
They don’t. I’m from New Orleans and the only time I smelled anything foul was on Bourbon Street and that’s because of the pissing, vomit and horse 💩. Tourist come here and live like it’s their last days on earth.

Grew up in Calliope Projects 3rd Ward (hence Chris Paul's nickname when he was on New Orleans). Calliope is technically adjacent to Central City according to local government, but residents of Central City (which includes the Magnolia and Melpomene projects) and Calliope informally call the whole area the 3rd Ward. However, none of the entire area is actually in the government's 3rd Ward, but anyone from those projects and around there would call it the 3rd Ward. Confusing I know, but New Orleans is a confusing place 😄
New Orleans has the worst streets in the country
