    Couldn’t agree more. I love story-driven games. People don’t really like this game just because it was way different from the original source material. I think it was fun seeing fnaf take a new approach and also getting a lot of lore while we were at it!

    • @Sandwichly
      @Sandwichly  Год назад +7

      Agreed. People when they played it enjoyed it, but of course when they looked back they decided to complain. I really do think that most of the FNAF games are good if not great so when they look back they become overly critical and forget the good things that the game had. The delivery of the Lore in this game had to be perfect or else FNAF would have never evolved past the 4 games. Thanks for watching Zoie!

    sister location was the first fnaf game where I was there for the lead up and saw all the little updates on scottgamss. when the trailer dropped I legit could not sleep cause I kept seeing baby's face when I closed my eyes (shes my fav now) the ajimatronics are the most intricate and beautiful to me and I love it regardless of how janky it came out to be

    I watched Uhyeah's hour long "sister location is bad" video, but I don't remember him talking about the lore that sister loc brought to the table. He had a lot to complain about regarding gameplay

      Gameplay of Sister Location is overly judged because people wanted some game to complain about. FNAF is lore driven and somehow it got forgotten when they looked at this game. I like uhyeah but don't feel it was right with the description of this game.

    I loved sister location. Think about it, it’s the first game in the series that has you facing a brand new threat every night. You can’t just use the same old “close the doors/vents and use audio lures” night after night and grow a strategy. It forces you to take every night as it comes, and I love it.

    Personally, I both love and hate SL. For the most part, I agree with uhyeah’s video talking about why SL is a bad game, but mostly just the gameplay. Things like scripted events making repeat play throughs a slog or the springlock challenge on night 4 being obscenely difficult when the rest of the game had been relatively easy to that point. However, I do like the story and the direction it took the series going forward, the endings were both really cool, the new gameplay style and concepts were interesting, and the animatronics have really cool designs. But unfortunately, aside from Baby, Ennard, and maybe Funtime Freddy, the other animatronics are so forgettable. Ballora pushes the boundary, but she’s only a threat for one night and you never hear from her again. Funtime Foxy may as well not be there with how little they matter. The Bidybabs and Minireenas are never explained and aren’t even a part of Ennard so they CLEARLY don’t matter. And the Custom Night animatronics are mostly recolors and Easter Eggs on top of the night being non-canon.
    In short, I liked the story and the concepts that SL introduced, but the gameplay execution felt kinda slapdash and caused multiple characters to become effectively irrelevant. SL is a lot like the show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. The ideas and concepts are there to make something great, but the execution makes it all fall flat on its face.

    Its not exactly fair to compare sister location to say... Pizza simulator or UCN. Unlike Sister location, those last 2 installments, like FNAF world before it, were totally free. You kinda expect certain dips in quality unfortunately with free products. Criticism is good, but compared to paid products, its just not usually a fair comparison. So let's keep that in mind when talking about Those last two

    I mean it has no gameplay for the people that come to fnaf for the stressful multi tasking so of course to us (gameplay enjoyers) this game was upsetting and horrible there were only 2 sections with real gameplay and one of them is extremely overly hard so only 1 section of the entire game has fun gameplay that's why people hate this game because the gameplay is extremely horrible.
    Um I guess custom night has gameplay and so does enard night bit custom night cant count to this it was a later update and many people don't like custom night style games enard night is very fun and great but it's just 1 extra section that can't even be found playing the game Normally you have to go out of your way to get to it its just extremely poor game design its a good story but it is also a "bad game"
    EDIT:wait you said you thought the custom night was the weakest part of gameplay you must be tripping bro it was practically the only gameplay I see your complaints with it but they do not hold up when compared to the rest of the game

    Also, for SL, I say that Scott could have done a huger game that had a perfect story, it is based on the god damn Child robot maker/big storage bunker of the main antagonist child murderer of the series. Like, he could have revealled some things about William Afton so we wouldn't have deniable proofs of them from the novels, he could have done special nights about robots and stuff, he could have done it more dreadful, he could have given some hints on MoltenMCI so we could have connected them with the books, he could have made better minigames and go too depths of how this place and animatronics were working and etc. Lots of stuff can be added with low effort. I am not talking about something huge, he could have gone a little bit basic on that without making it bad. Like small things for it, not huge ones. Also some of things could be not covered like Hand Unit. A basic phone guy or a panel could have worked too. Also it breaks the atmosphere. That's why I don't like SL.
    I think SL was secretly a child robot making facility, at least it turned that after William lost his children and get mad over Henry because of his perfect family, he deserved more than Henry. Why I am thinking that is because FNaF encyclopedia refers to the heads on the table. I don't accept bidybabs since William didn't try to built children robots at the time of "The Fourth Closet" but it had existed in that book. Also the line "I'll put you back together." gets awkward if this is not true. Also I meant it like it was the combinal Factory of William, a narcissist's mind's work was there, it was William's mind's factory. If Twisted Ones-Nightmares theory is true, I think William used that on BV to scare and manipulate him, which shows how cruel he was (Observation rooms are located in SL). If child robot factory is true, it was the jealousy of him. Animatronics were his learning and copying to capture children, he even add muscles to the animatronics for their weight problem. It was all his mind's reflection
    And hell yeah, Circus Baby've shown good, all animatronics should have been though. Ennard Night shows Circus Baby, it really does after an epic betrayal. But it was the only part of the game which we had seen this, and it's only Circus Baby, this does not exists for Ballora and Funtimes. They are just there to be there, like not even covered.
    And yeah, the biggest one are interaction and low field. We are in a Facility, which is also a workplace. How many workers did get murdered here, what was their stories, where was the offices of People... We can only see 8 rooms (Ballora, Funtime Freddy, Funtime Foxy and Circus Baby's rooms. Office and scooper rooms.) Why didn't we get to see how this god damn facility was working? Why do we only get to see (We don't even get to see, it's just a black void and a path.) Animatronic's rooms and also why do we have a safe room? Like, that's not how FNaF's offices was working until FNaF SB. It was something dangerous, like, three of them didn't have doors, one of them didn't have enough power, one of their doors was kept open. None of them was safe. Even if SL office was safe, it shouldn't have been used much.
    And interaction, We don't interact with our surroundings. Like we don't in our office (2 buttons are not enough for a "mad man's facility exploring" game.), we don't interact with Animatronic's rooms. Except Funtime Freddy's observation room ofc, it was almost perfect.
    That's why, I like SL, but think it could be better.

      @Sandwichly  Год назад +1

      Hi again. Oh yeah for sure it could have been better. Almost every game can improve in some aspect. However, if you really crave doing actual work at the facility then Help Wanted 2 might help you complete some mundane tasks. Thanks for watching

    I Think The Issue With Sister Location Is Its Difficulty Pacing And Very Linear Gameplay Mechanics(besides Ennard night and custom night), The Difficulty Is Most Of The Time Pretty Tame And Easy To Deal With But At Times Like With The Breaker Room Challenge And The Springlock Challenge, The Difficulty Spikes Ridiculously Out Of Nowhere, And This In My Opinion Is Immersion Breaking In A Way, In The Other Games The Difficulty Would Build Up Overtime So It Was Understandable That You'll Struggle Here And There When It Does, Because You Expect It To, But These Difficulty Spikes That Happen Out Of Nowhere, Aren't Expected, And While For A First Run Of That Section It Can Make It More Scary, Eventually It Gets Frustrating As You Keep Failing And Retrying Over And Over Again... You Have Difficult Challenges On Night 2 And 4, While on 3 and 5(true ending) Its Pretty Easy, And Night 1 Has No Difficulty....
    As For The Story, My Issue Isn't The Plot By Itself, Cause The Plot Is Good, The Issue Is That It Was Such A Jarring Shift From A More Grounded Story About Haunted Pizzerias And Nightmares About Animatronics Hunting You In Your House.... To Futuristic Underground Bunker With technologies Like Scoopers, Remnant, Etc. A Gradual Shift Over Time Would've Felt More Natural And Less Forced. People Are Much More Likely To Suspend Their Disbelief At Working In A Spooky Pizzeria Than Working At A Futuristic Underground Rental Service, People Just Can't Relate With The Latter Like They Can With The Former.
    Anyways With That Said, There Are Many Positives About Sister Location Such As The Music, Atmosphere, Tone, Animatronic Designs, Etc. While I May Not Agree With Some Of The Points You Brought, Its Still A Good Video! Hope To See Future Content From You!

    I'm not trying to come off as mean in this comment but I have very different opinions.
    I didn't like this game at 12 when it came out and I still don't.
    Gameplay: The difficulty does not make sense, the Breaker Room section is too difficult for night 2, night 4 is too difficult for the game, and night 5 is way too easy and not challenging at all (At least the canon end). The scripted events make it feel more like watching a movie than playing a horror game, with everything from Ballora spinning in the same spot in front of you, to you can't die in the vents despite hearing something come after you just break the immersion. My #1 complaint is the checkpoints or lack thereof, die in the Breaker Room? Better do Ballora again, die on night 4? Time to listen to Baby, die on Ennard night? REDO THE WHOLE ENTIRE NIGHT, a good horror game makes you scared of dying, and a bad horror game makes you scared of losing progress. The only complaints with custom night I have are, Minireenas are annoying, jumpscares are lazy, and I wish Baby was there.
    Story: just 2 complaints. The series is more sci-fi than realistic horror, and William is more funny, mad scientist than a mysterious, serial killer, which might just be a me issue. Take Elizabeth from the entire series and nothing much changes honestly.
    4/10 Scott, you can do better.

    Do you play as the crying child in FNaF 4 or do you play as Michael Afton?
    When does FNaF 4 take place? If it is in 1983, why do the security cameras show the FNaF 4 room just as we saw it in that game?
    When Michael Afton gets scooped, does Ennard take his eyes? Why do his eyes glow purple? Is this from remnant, from agony? What is remnant? Does the scooper both extract and inject remnant?
    What does the very first dialogue at the beginning of the game mean? The one with William Afton? Is the guy asking him questions suspicious that he is murdering children with his animatronics? What ever came of that guy?

    • @Sandwichly
      @Sandwichly  Год назад +1

      First of all, thanks for taking the time to type this all out.
      Now, to answer the questions:
      Yes I do believe We play as the crying child, the reason I say so is this seems to be the path FNAF is taking with security breach. It seems Gregory represents the Crying Child and Glamrock Freddy as Michael Afton. Therefore meaning younger brother is the crying child and older brother is Michael.
      Yes I do believe the game takes place in 1983. We kind of have to believe this as the dates on the television show this, if we discard this we only do more damage to the concrete knowledge we have of the FNAF Lore. I believe this may have been Scott throwing us a bone.
      When it comes to, does ennard replace his eyes and such, I say this. Is it really that important? It's a great question and I am sure an answer is out there, but does it really matter what the color is? If it has no real implications to the overall timeline that should be something we visit after we are a little bit more grounded in our knowledge. *Btw I think it's ennards*
      When it comes to the questioning of Afton's intentions with the animatronic I sincerely believe another coworker of Afton's at Fazbear. I believe that interaction is someone with a high position questioning Afton's plans for the animatronics as he goes on to build Babys Pizzeria. It's someone wondering why Afton would add all this functions when they don't make sense to the purpose of a "pizzeria". They arent questioning the business but merely the additions to the animatronics.
      Thanks if u read this. Sorry it was a long response.

      @@whocaresaboutthename6850 I'm starting to believe we play as Michael in fnaf4. We know the place is real thanks to SL, so it can't be some sort of hallucination of cc. If the nightmares are similar to the twisted animatronics (I think this is one of the most popular theories) then maybe it's Michael's nightmare. He's seen his brother die and that might explain why the nightmares have sharp teeth and multiple mouths, also it explains some of the easter eggs like the medical stuff near the bed. I also think it could have been William's way of punishing Michael after destroying his "perfect" family (or destroying it even further, if Elisabeth was already killed by Baby)

    I would have to disagree, i think after sister location (and due to the game) the lore spiraled out of control. Afton became a joke of a villain and the games lost its soul. If sister location started its own series of games unrelated to the og 4, it would be better, but as it stands now, its just a mess. I feel because we didnt let it end, itll just die a long, drawn out and painful death as fans slowly drop off rather than a nice end where you can look back and appreciate it for what it was
