@@skachoofficial9476 That's true, but it still doesn't make Sobble better than Grookey for that fight. If Sobble gets out sped, misses an attack, or is switched in, he's taking a supereffective hit. At that point in the game, not getting steamrolled by Milo is a major concern because Hop can't expand his team at that point beyond his starter Pokémon, Rookidee and Wooloo. Rookidee covers for a Grass-type weakness a little bit, so maybe you can justify bringing the Sobmeister. Just don't bring Scorbunny. He'll steamroll the first gym, but since Hop doesn't expand his team before fighting Nessa, her much stronger team will stonewall you pretty quickly, even after they've been evolved.
@@jontyonopko since we gave Hop a pass on that water gym anyways by overlevelling his pokemon and trying 12 times. I think its fair to push that one gym earlier because it would make no sense for him to fail even sooner. Then with sobble on the team, the fire gym and the champion can both become much more feasible. i'm not sure how much it helps but sobble also learns sucker punch if im not mistaken and that dark type move can help with the ghost gym.

With only three relatively weak Pokemon in his toolkit, being stonewalled by Milo and running out of time to make it to the championship is a real risk he runs if he doesn't give himself an easy time with his choice of starter. Nessa can also hard-block him, since he still has the same number of Pokemon in the same order, the only difference being that two of them have evolved. Sobble and Scorbunny are both at a disadvantage in this gym. By the time he gets to Kabu, his team has levelled up and expanded, meaning that he can compensate for Grooky's type disadvantage later down the line; it also helps that Rookidee counters Centiscorch, Kabu's ace.

I guess say that if Bede would have put his mind to it and instead of gathering wish star and helping Rose, he could have really become champion. Maybe that training Opal really made him better trainer / person.
It actually would be interesting to see a rival who has no idea how to be a Pokemon Trainer that has rich parents who buy gym badges for him just so he can advance lol. Or maybe hes got a secret friend who is the real rival that wins the badges for him.
Answering Your Question : I believe Bede does more then half of the things he usually does in the main story line for his ideas, is because of Chairman Rose, as you can see Bede was possibly adopted and taken under his wing, and also gave a pokemon, which made him want to have more and more fairy-types. He wants to always battle the protagonist, despite how many times he lost to us/them/her/him in previous battles. Bede wanted to support Rose anyway he could, so he agreed to searching for Wishing Stars, and Bede also wanted to win the role of champion, I can say he had lots of jealousy towards us and Hop, knowing we were endorsed by him, and that meant that we were closer to having a possibility of winning the champion role. Bede interfered first with us in his challenge, despite being pulled back from the championship tournament, AND also being pushed into a fairy-type training camp, where Opal wanted to see if he was the right fit. And I believe he was either the fairy type gym leader or still her apprentice. Bede changed his personality, attitude and such more ever since we beat him in the finals. What led to all these conclusions and ideas was taking info off of his league cards, which gave the majority of his starter life. His next few times he appeared, I got more information off of him by the way he always acted. I could tell that his personality went to Stern, Irritating, and Resisent. It is probably his attiude that sets people off edge, and unlike him.
As for the Leon run, you should just bring in all the starters. We know he has them all and it could be possible that the ones he gives us aren't the "official starters" of the region and just breedjects of his mons

Bede is an underrated character let's be honest. I wouldn't blame his snarky attitude. He's been through a lot of childhood trama and continues go through that stuff.
I'd love to watch and see if Leon could actually make it to the finals, but I don't think Leon got his starter from the gallar, I think he got it some were else, kinda like how ash got his Pikachu from oak, but he still uses it as his starter around the world
With Leon it's likely he didn't have one of the Galar starters, he likely had Charmander. Why I am confident he didn't have any of the Galar starters is simply he has whichever starter you and Hop didn't chose, why would he train that starter but leave his choice to collect dust?

Since the recent music video showed that Leon canonically used Inteleon and Mr. Rime, maybe you could use that team when doing your U N B E A T A B L E Leon run
For a Leon challenge, trade over a gmax charmander. Complete the game up to the finale. Then do the isle of armour with different Pokémon and finally fight mustard in his final battle as a substitute for the champion battle.
I'd say Grooky should be the Starter for Leon as he's quite upbeat but not as agil as Scorbunny nor as teary as Sobble. Rillaboom's hairy also fit in with Leon's and I guess having someone making drummrolls while psoing would be so Leon ;)

Leon would most definitely have the sobble team. Scorbunny doesn’t suit him because he has charizard. And Rilaboom is just not it for him.
