People acted so surprised that they sound so clear, flat, and present. It seems like uneducated/amateur eared gear snobs don't like them because lots of hip hop engineers and producers use them. Lo fi (comes with Pro Tools), like Sans Ampand other ‘Harmonic Saturation’ plug-ins... adds frequency content. You’re not necessarily going for a distorted sound, but it actually makes things stand out in a mix better. Usually create a 2nd track, add HD and then mix it in . Hope that helps 😎
