    World Series teams with Willie Randolph, 0-8 vs Reds in World Series Play. Also, 75, 76, and 90 (also 1919) all Reds World Series victories away from home. 1940 was the only year they won the final game at home.

    As much as I enjoy the sound of the buzzing. I loved how the audio cleared up for Marty during the last out. Great upload.

      Nice catch! The original version from MLB had a kazoo playing in the background of that final call.

      I vividly remember listening to this call on WLW with CBS muted. And this call was one of the signs to Marty that he needed an examination of his vocal cords. It led to him quitting smoking, and he's still going strong now at 81.

    Canseco had fallen so far so fast in this series that nobody who was watching this expected him to do anything when he came up with 1 out in the 9th. I think most people expected him to strike out, but tapping a weak grounder to third was a pretty fitting way to cap off this nightmare of a series for him.

    My son was 13 and lived in Ventura, CA in 1990. I was a young minister in Morgantown, WV, having been a Reds fan since birth. All during that 1990 Series, I would call up my son during and after each game and revel in the victories. He drew a picture for me depicting the Reds victory that year. I still have that picture 34 years later. Thank you, Reds, for so many great memories.

    Reds fan my whole life.... Eric Davis is my all time favorite player.... for the life of me I never remember him playing left field. Why is he not in center.... why would Billy Hatcher be there instead of him? I'm so confused... hahaha

    • @RoundingThird
      @RoundingThird  Год назад +1

      Davis was in center until he hurt his knee on April 24 and then slammed into a wall right before the playoffs. In the NLCS Davis threw out Bonilla from left after Hatcher crashed into the wall trying to make the play. Also Hatcher started and ended the 1990 season as the hottest hitter in baseball. Davis lost NLCS game 1 for the Reds when he misjudged the ball and it went over his head.
