Therefore all of these have most of the scene in focus, however the Sony is pretty clearly inferior, unfortunately. The 1/3.5 sensor and tiny pinhole aperture at the long end can't keep up with the larger lenses and constant apertures allowed by the large sensors (with 4x+ resolution, and particularly impressive OIS on Vivo!) cropping and pixel shifting to form a sharper image.

The plane of focus is so massive that it wouldnt make a difference. As the reviewer explained, its a soft looking tele lens. Not surprising given how tiny and low res it is (1/3.5 type) with the miniscule small aperture lens. @@sosiehtesaus2652

Sony is something not for someone who want to have "pull-out-of-your-pocket-and-snap" kinda smartphone camera and also not for someone who loves instant process images. They have their own niche target segment. Everyone have their own preference. Even my girlfriend said my A52s camera is stunning out of nowhere while she's apple fangirl. Just respect each other.
Probably not. It's personal preference at this point. It is more eye catching on the Samsung even though it applies digital sharpening but more prevalent on the Vivo since it's just that good processing. Sony is using true optical lenses so it looks softer because of that. Shame but it is what is.

Vivo will smoke anything when it comes to pictures. No iPhone, Samsung, or Pixel can compete with sensors that are so massively larger across the board. Also, the dedicated Image processing chip is a nice plus. And not to mention it's generally better than all other androids in video as well. And even beats iPhones in low-light video.
Pro cam hardware a Sony phone😂 If you want the best picture quality grab the VIVO. If you want the PRO RES VIDEO grab the iPhone. If you are a Photographer GRAB A MIRRORLESS not a phone.
The Vivo looks the nicest. Next is the iPhone. I believe the Sony is out of focus mayhaps? I'm disappointed in the result for Samsung. The sky is blown out and the image is overall too contrasty.

Sony's focus is quite off. Remember the sony is shooting in 130mm so there is quite a lot of natural blur out of focus. For dum dums, higher mm the stronger the natural bokeh effect ( or portrait effect for the sheeps) So the blur is just natural. Point being: sony's autofocus and post processing software sucks. On the 1vi its bearable, but the sensors are by far the best of all these phones. With manual mode and manual post editing sony wouldn't be behind.

Its AUTO FOCUS genius. VIVO, Samsung and iPhone also focused on the Poster faces. Its called EYE AUTOFOCUS. The other are FAR BETTER at Zoom period.
