I thought these were supposed to be rural. Toronto and Scarborough aren't exactly rural. Between '87 and '93, the population of the GTA was 3.5 to 4 million.

Paul Bernardo attacked a woman at my bus stop he also attacked another woman across the street from where my sister would eventually live. Karla got off with murder she only served a few years and is now living with her family. They are both monsters. Side note : Scarborough is not rural it's part of the Greater Toronto Area. I lived in Scarborough during his Scarborough rapist days. They also raped and tortured two othe teen girls, Christin French and Leslie Mahaffey 😢
The Ken and Barbie killers weren't rural. Scarborough/Toronto are not even close to small or rural.

You missed a HUGE part of the Ken and Barbie Killers story. They were now living in St. Catharines Ontario, about an hour and a half drive from Toronto, when they kidnapped, tortured, sexually assaulted, and murdered 2 teenage girls. 15 year old Leslie Mahaffey was locked out of her house because she missed her curfew by 5 minutes. Paul found her walking to a friend's house and offered her a ride. A few weeks later her dismembered body was found encased in cement in Lake Gibson. 14 year old Kristen French was kidnapped from a church parking lot by Paul and Karla in broad daylight. Two weeks later her naked body was found in a ditch. They figured she had bedn dead less than 24 hours. When Paul beat Karla with the flashlight she went to the police. They made a deal where she would only serve 12 years in exchange for evidence against Paul. During the investigation police found video tapes where Karla had recorded Paul torturing and raping the 2 girls multiple times with Karla egging him on
Relax people, Eric said Karl is on vacation, literally at the beginning of the video. Karl has his own channels to run too. He and Eric are sharing hosty responsibilities.

There is nothing rural about Toronto. Town marshal? Really? Toronto has a hell of lot more than one cop , even in the 80s.

4:08 I saw a documentary about this and it’s just awful. They kidnapped a woman and kept her in a dog cage in the basement. They even had family over for either Easter or Thanksgiving dinner with the girl locked up downstairs

Does rural have a different definition in North America to Europe?
It doesn’t have a different definition but it’s practically very different considering how small Europe and its countries are. I lived in a rural village years ago, I drove 40 miles one way to do my grocery shopping. I went into town once a week all year (weather similar to Helsinki but twice the snowfall). The shop in town was too small and expensive for me to get all my groceries for the week. There are people who live in small farming communities that will be farther out from small towns, and then there’s people in the boonies.
Toronto isn’t rural. Rest in peace to those that passed away.
Should have included the 2020 Nova Scotia attacks, where 23 people were killed over two days, or the 2022 Saskatchewan stabbings, where 12 were killed and 18 injured.

I knew Frankie Rhoden, and their family was pretty prominent- if not infamous in the community. I've been waiting for someone to cover this. I remember all the speculation when it happened because every posited hypothesis seemed plausible. I know firsthand of some of the things they were into, and Frankie told me of some other things. To be clear I worked with him for a bit and knew some other members of his family; we weren't chummy or anything, but with the pure malice and calculation that went into it, I never expected it to be the Wagners. Maybe one of the cartels, or a gambling debt... Well, until they up and moved to Alaska to try to fly under the radar.

Scarborough, Toronto is nor rural or small with over 1 million people. I, being from Scarborough know this as Toronto is Canada's New York City so Scarborough would be like Brooklyn...RESEARCH. Even when the murders happened Scarborough was a HUGE metropolitan city centre.
Also the murders happened in the city of st catherines which is not rural either

How in anyway can Chicago be considered Rural?
Different cities have bigger city limits and some city limits are right out into the boonies. When the town became a city they had to take into consideration of how fast the city is growing. Sometimes certain properties don't get sold for future use of the city council but are still within the city limits. Some cases the city grows in size so fast that the city boundaries haven't had a chance to be changed. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.
