Sleeveless shirts are especially nice at that point because the muscles (especially in the shoulders) generate so much heat it's hard to keep cool. and the fact it's sleeveless typically means it's easier to move rather than being constricted. Having a gusseted crotch in pants/shorts is also important for being able to move well.
