The gorgeous eyes and the remarkable nose, the elegance of the hands and the crystaline soaring voice pouring urgently out of that tiny frame were all mesmerizing. For those of us who were there, we knew we were watching the further ascendancy of a star so bright and so extraordinary that it was mind boggling to witness. Tom John's art direction was sublime.
When you are torn between looking at the beautiful face or the exquisite arms and hands, you know you are looking at a consummate beauty. And then the notes pour forth and you’re a basket case.
Everything about Barbra is so unique. Her stage presence, her style, her Amazing sweet yet powerful voice. She's in a league of her own. No one like her.
I adore this performance, but I'm laughing now as I watch it because in her book, she talks about being photographed upside down in the reflecting pool. "Today, it would be.....horrifying" she says. 🤣🤣🤣She's so real. Love her! And that E flat at the end is as amazing today as it was in 1966.
I've always loved this! Young Barbra was so exquisitely gifted,so pure and unedited. The voice, an instrument! She still is amazing! I will always adore her!
Beautiful and remarkable in every way. To me, My Name Is Barbra and Color Me Barbra set standards musically and artistically that have never been matched. Both are hypnotically beautiful...thank you for posting... :)
Streisand, Garland and Minnelli the trifecta of talents. All strong yet vulnerable. Icons to a time when talent meant something. ….. and in another realm, Cher.
So well said 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 What happened to this America? Why do we celebrate crassness and ghetto themes now? I wish there was still mainstream arenas today for future talent to develop like these great legends did.
Thanks 4 sharing, didn't know song was featured in movie starring Streisand. Barbra known to be a highly demanding perfectionist in her shows. Diana Krall's rendition was probably best
Well, that is a somewhat unique take on a song originally written for two characters in their teens who just met, on Long Island, during The Depression. A little stentorian for my tastes. But very Barbra. :)
Barbra didn't care about her "better" side back then. Later she would make talk show hosts switch the set around so her supposed "better" side was facing the camera.
Me too but that's her choice. Barbra sometimes sings nasally and sometimes not...Just listen Barbra singing People in 1965, there she sings loud, clear and less nasally.

@@oscar646 Beautiful woman in every way.
And yet, her cruel father used to say she was ugly. What a vile thing to say to your own daughter.
@@rayarena879that was actually her stepfather. Very cruel and awful nonetheless.
Reading her book now, and I am so enjoying it.

She redefined what musical TV specials could be, as she has redefined so much else.
So true!
The sheer audacity to be so talented. A gift to all humanity!
She's an incredible person. Beautiful voice, beautiful face, beautiful character.
I miss this America. Classy, thoughtful, talented
You are not alone.
@@onirannam Ditto!
Me too and I am from Rome!!!❤🌈🌹
Ok but she's dressed in Egyptian clothing. 😅😅
Imagine o que nós sentimos aqui no Brasil com a "cultura lixo" imposta pelo governo comunista atual através dos falsos talentos brasileiros 😢
The zenith of tv specials
Glamour, beauty, talent ,performance and design the best of the best!
Love it. Loved it when I saw it live back in the 60s. Love it still. (And have it on DVD). Great performance.
Still original and charming.
Stunning Barbra!❤🌈🌹
I've never seen this before! A Treasure!
an ICON...UNparalleled!
Top-notch art design and direction from a period when there were classy TV specials. A beautiful performance!
She’s just extraordinary ❤️
Love early Streisand. So creative, so fresh.
I've always loved this! Young Barbra was so exquisitely gifted,so pure and unedited. The voice, an instrument! She still is amazing! I will always adore her!

As ever extraordinary and way ahead of her time - this was a great tv special
Everything about this is perfection. If this were to be performed at a Super Bowl half-time, people would know what singing is.
Sooooo, very good. A true God given talent.

So beautiful. Thanks. Here Brazil.
Magical! Extraordinary!
👍👍👍this whole album is Fantastic! I Love 'Gotta Move'!
Absolutely fabulous performance!
I also miss this America of years ago and always will be missed. Barbra Streisand at her very best performances ever and beautiful
Exquisite Barbra!
Iconic.

Incredible.
My fav audition song.
Beautiful
Magical
Perfection!
She does this well, and I love this special. However, diana ross gives me chills when she sings this.
Fantastic 💜👏👏👏👏
Remarkable
LOVE
Wowza1😲
Nobody knows the world knew color TV with this?😊
I wish she had made a duet with Diana Ross 🥰

A little stentorian for my tastes. But very Barbra. :)
This regression bit foreshadows her bigger role as Daisy Gamble in ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, released in 1970! A bit of prescience there!!
I wonder is she still has her costumes from this tv special?
Barbra didn't care about her "better" side back then. Later she would make talk show hosts switch the set around so her supposed "better" side was facing the camera.
690th like❤
Many times in my bedroom as a girl I sang along with her in this magnificent performance.
what year is this from? it would be nice when you upload a video, to give the date
1966
Incredible song but Barbra's rendition is definitely not one of the best.
Before the .. EGO ... went Too far....,!! Just my opinion...
I don't like the nasal quality of her voice. It sounds like she sings more thru her noise than her throat.
Me too but that's her choice. Barbra sometimes sings nasally and sometimes not...Just listen Barbra singing People in 1965, there she sings loud, clear and less nasally.
The nerve of a white woman to play a Black icon Nefertiti.
🤣🤣🤣
well, she DOES have nerve...
ps.. is that anything like Black Cinderella?
Cultural appropriation never looked so good!
lol So funny! You're probably jealous because a Jewish girl sings better than a black girl.
