I was considered a prodigy drummer as a child and made a career out of it. Neil was my main influence and I know his orchestrations forward and back, being more than able to play Rush's entire catalogue. However, nobody can EVER replicate Neil's feel, touch or ambiance. He's simply not replaceable.

Thank you, Jamel, for reacting to my favorite Rush song of all time!!!!!! I agree with Paul G. below -- the live version from "All the World's a Stage" is amazing.

That is such a great song. Btw the story you heard is probable true. Also, Neal wrote that song but no one could figure out what the " tobes of hell" was talking about. He would laugh and say it was something his friends father used to say. Thanks for the reaction.
About what you said @ 3:35, they never used a cookie cutter formula but instead approach each individual song differently try to musically match the tone and feel with the message of a song. This is just one reason when they toured with Kiss back in the day Kiss specially Paul Stanley was confused by Rush's music. Kiss was pretty much a simplistic and cliche band with superficial lyrics and a rehashed formula and couldn't wrap their heads around Rush's epic approach to music.
Great Black Panther shirt...I loved the comics and he's still one of my favs in Avengers movies etc. That blues before the final verse is such a shock and never fails to give me chills. It had to be kind of a NOD to the mighty Zep,which was Alex's model for guitar anyway as Zeppelin's first (mostly blues) album was out when the band initially formed with Rutsy as drummer. Thanx for the Rush!
Just a HOPING, Finger-Crossed Song or 2 you Might Want to React Too! TOMMY BOLIN: "Wild Dogs", "Dreamer", and "Post Toastee". Tragically Tommy OD'ed in December of 1976, just as he was starting to Go BIG! He was only 25. I was 17, and it Crushed My Life For The Longest Time. He was My 1st "Guitar Hero". Tommy Plays ALL Guitar parts on his solo Albums. "Wild Dogs" is MY Personal Favorite TB Song. IF you are into songs with great, Great "Dynamics" from slow, sort & pretty to full-blown Rocking, Then- BOOM- in 1 beat you're back to the slow, soft & pretty...Try "Dreamer". "Post Toastee" is another great Tommy tune. Every Member of the band gets to "Show Off" a little. Post Toastee for those that are young was a cereal(still is a cereal??) that was hard and crunchy, BUT- The Second you added the milk-Bang- It Was An Instant Soggy Mess. Meaning mainly, Don't Let You're Friends(or yourself) Go The Post Toastee Route! You, Your Spirit, Body And Mind Cannot go all soggy.... IF, Only IF, Tommy would Have Listened to His Own Advice. :(

The Analog Kid, Digital Man, New World Man (All 3 songs go together)
*4 Parts of Fear* (The Enemy Within, The Weapon, Witch Hunt, Freeze)
Oh yeah the Enemy Within so never heard that on the radio such a good damn song
The drums were rewound countless times back in the days of cassettes.
That is such a great song. Btw the story you heard is probable true. Also, Neal wrote that song but no one could figure out what the
" tobes of hell" was talking about.
You have to check out the live version form "All the World's a Stage" . Even more vital and powerful. we just don't have Bands like Rush anymore :-(
Groovy. Watching this live is awesome
Try hemispheres all side one.. hemispheres... or any rush song the greatest rock band ever!!🤘🇺🇸🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦
I don't know how cool you are away from the screen but you're f-in cool on.
A three man band made magic music for the nerds of the 70
Just a HOPING, Finger-Crossed Song or 2 you Might Want to React Too!
At the time this came out I was also listening to Fly by Night by Chilliwack
Jamel, you need to react to Passage to Bangkok by Rush!!
Hell yeah let's take a trip on the Thailand Express
You are fabulous!!! 🙂
Great song! Live version from All the World’s A Stage is superior if you can believe that.
