First Rush album I ever bought. This song literally changed my life. After so much pop music (1985) I kept asking myself, "wait, you can actually do that in music?!?
Rush's lighting manager Howard Ungerleider came up with the title at a party. There were two dogs at the party, one a German shepherd and the other a tiny white nervous dog. Howard used to call the shepherd By-Tor because anyone that walked into the house was bitten. The other dog was a snow-dog (white). So from that night on Howard called the pair of dogs "By-Tor and the Snow Dog." The dogs belonged to Rush's manager, Ray Danniels

My brother, Jamel_AKA_Jamal. It is a pleasure and a privilege to witness you discover RUSH I am rocking right along with ya!
One of their greats!!
Perfect reaction. You really get it.
“This is what they do to you.” Looking off into space being taken to somewhere deep in imagination. Amen brother.
Awesome reaction! Another cool song on that album is "Anthem".
My favorite part about listening to a Rush lyric video is when it says [Instrumental] and you know you are about to go on a ride!
Awesome analysis brother, spent much of my youth loving this tune and it finally gets the analysis it's always deserved. Well done!
