SP&S 700 Arriving at Portland Union Station for National Train Day 2013

  • Steam locomotive Spokane, Portland, and Seattle arriving Friday evening May 10 for set up at Portland Union Station for National Train Day 2013. The move from Oregon Rail Heritage Center was a reverse move due to the short distance and the train would already be facing the correct direction for display. First the train came over the Steel Bridge in reverse through PDX on track four, then forward onto track two until BNSF 6989 pulled onto track one then back again and forward onto track one to it's final position.

    Considering it's a quiet zone, I would've laid on the whistle full blast if I was the engineer (I think conductors actually have the whistle on their side, so in that case, conductor.)
