yup, id say each truck has had the loosen up 3 times per side by 200k miles. only once did it actually blow out a gasket. usually im able to just re-torque the exhaust bolts and its good...for a while
That’s exactly how it started every time for our trucks. If you get to it soon enough and try to snug up the bolts might be good for quite a while. If you wait too long it’ll blow out that manifold gasket.
I have a '21 and it's done it since it was brand new. Has 50k miles now and has gradually gotten worse. The dealer said there was nothing wrong. I just pulled the inner fender today and sure as shit the left manifold is leaking
My 2017 seems to be doing something this. More of a vibration/chattering noise than a squeal. Thought it was in the hydroboost and replaced it, but not it. Could you feel it in the accelerator and brake pedals or firewall when it happens? Mine is on acceleration at around 2k RPM and on the engine brake. Guess I will tear into this next.
@@PartTime_Pro thank you. I hate to tear into it without being sure, but I"m at a loss as to what else mine could be. I've already replaced the PS pump and hydroboost because it seems to be in that area. I also pulled the ABS fuses thinking it could be in that system. It is a very strange noise, and I can feel it in the pedals. Does it on the engine brake and acceleration at around 2K RPM. Pulling my hair out here...
@@bretshook6263 yeah that’s a hard one could be a ton of different different things that would cause a vibration in the floor. to be honest, I’m a pretty capable mechanic, but even sometimes I get out of my depth and take my truck to somebody who knows more than me for at least the diagnosis
Unfortunately no. Just keep tightening them up. There are some companies that make aftermarket manifolds and studs that may work. I haven’t tried them personally tho
@@davan14 tell them that. Don’t let them tell you it’s fine. That’s definitely an exhaust leak. Under warranty they should replace the manifold, the gasket, and the bolts. That’s what they did to mine while it was under warranty
So my dealer tells me the exhaust brake squeal is normal, and sounds like I have this exact issue. What’s the long term effect if you don’t fix the issue?
Thank you for this, I’m at 100,800 on a 2022 with an exhaust leak. Thank you!
Have had it happen twice now myself

What noise was it making? Mine started to make a hell of a squeal on decell when the exhaust brake is engaged

@@bretshook6263 no never really feel it as a vibration or anything. It’s always just been more of a noise you can hear

Only on the '20 and above? Thanks for making this video.
I can’t say for sure since I only own an 06 and 2-21’s
Have you found a long term solution

@@PartTime_Pro okay I hot shot as well my truck is still under warranty and I have a appointment with the dealer what should I tell them
@@davan14 is it squealing ? With exhaust brake on or when accelerating?
@@PartTime_Pro both when I accelerate it squeals and then on declines with exhaust brake on

How many times have you replaced that intercooler pipe my buddy is on his 4th one at 40k 2022
never, they came apart at the press fitting. i cut them down and then just used a normal bolt style turbo clamp.
Tell your buddy to get werhli fab or banks pipping, he will not have any more problems with it then
Where are you located? Would you be interested to do manifolds, up-pipes, down-pipes on a new 2024 L5P?

yeah they are completely wrong. eventually it will get worse and completely blow out the manifold gasket and warp manifolds.
Mine just started doing the noise with exhaust brake on. Any of yours brake studs? I gotta tear it down tomorrow see what im in for.
Nope no broken studs. Mine is starting to leak again it sounds like. I’ll do another updated video when I look into it.
Did you replace the studs or did you use the same ones. The dealer ship won’t have the studs till a week from today
I re used them
@@PartTime_Pro hell yeah thanks
too much movement makin me dizzy
