I really don’t understand, last season many rivals were over the moon with the ball playing of Ramsdale and wishing their goal keepers could do the same( DDG), now they’re saying Ramsdale is more like DDG and his distribution is his weakness and Raya is better? Too many bandwagons who just want new shiny toy. Ramsdales weakness is his concentration and tendency to not keep things simple sometimes. Something that comes with age and experience. He’s 24, he will learn

I love Ramsdale but I see Raya as the number 1. His ball playing attributes are miles ahead of Ramsdales. He does it effortlessly..
Ramsdale is actually not as bad as I thought, just needs to float his passes less as it gives the defender an opportunity to recover and he must avoid passing to the middle as he looks very nervous on those occasions but I'm actually impressed with his distribution. I overlooked that of him.

@@smoeellot he ain’t. Raya much more consistent whilst ramsdale a lot of the time kicks the ball of the pitch. Well back end of last season he did. But they’re both quality quality distributors. And keepers in general.

if u think about how much we improved after leno left in terms of playing out from the back it was obvious Ramsdale had a huge impact. I think Raya might just be slightly better though not by a huge margin.

Both strong goal keepers tbh .Raya better suited to a team that presses high as he has a more accurate long pass. Ramsdale. we are in two elite competitions . we will need two elite goal keepers without dropping quality
Its because Ramsdale messed up towards the end of last season.
His makes numerous mistakes that lead to a goal. almost 1/3 of Arsenal conceded goals can be avoided if Ramsdale makes a better save.
Lets not pretend Raya is better and needs to start if we want to win the league.
Ramsdale has a few hiccups here and their but they can be costly. Raya will be good competition for him.
It looks like Raya has better accuracy with his long balls, and he is a better shot stopper in my eyes.
If he comes to Arsenal, Ramsdale must be prepared to lose that spot.

In these clips it shows Ramsdale is bar far a better long passer of the ball and Raya a better receiver of the ball (first touch), the distance and accuracy Ramsdale achieve is better than Raya. What you also need to remember, both teams play different styles of football, so when making comparisons you have to bear that in mind.
If Raya is doing that at Brentford imagine what he could do at Arsenal

He is starting ahead of Ramsdale because of coach preference) When you are playing for a top team, you have more pressure on you. Ramsdale played under this pressure last seaaon and got Arsenal to second position even with out stubborn coach's attitude that cost us the league
Watch Ramsdale in Brentford game. Watch Raya in Lens game at Emirates. Now, you can clearly see who is better. Remember that Brentford played low-block in that game. Lens played mid-block and they did high pressing better than Brentford.

Ramsdale still need to try harder and gain his confidence back. After the Brentford game, Raya is the number one goalkeeper in Arsenal. Ramsdale was never the first choice for Arteta' system. Arteta tried to brought Raya to the team but Brentford said no at that time. So that Arteta changed to plan B, which was Ramsdale.

People are too quick to forget Raya does not play behind the same defence as |Arsenal neither do both sides play the same way. We have already seen that Rice will have a little adaptation to do as well. Do not undermine Ramsdel due to Raya's stats . Arsenal do not need to play long as often as Brentford .

I disagree. I think at their best Ramsdale is a better shot stopper and their distribution is just about the same. However, having watched 30+ matches of Raya he rarely makes mistakes and he’s better at shot prevention like claiming crosses.
