- A HD video of the Christmas Carol See amid the winter's snow
Produced by ianbritton.co.uk
Soundtrack recorded live at the NBA Big Sing, Gateshead.
See amid the winter's snow,
born for us on earth below,
see, the gentle Lamb appears,
promised from eternal years.
Refrain:
Hail that ever blessèd morn,
hail redemption's happy dawn,
sing through all Jerusalem:
Christ is born in Bethlehem.
Lo, within a manger lies
he who built the starry skies;
he who, thronèd in height sublime,
sits amid the cherubim. Refrain
Say, ye holy shepherds, say,
what your joyful news today.
wherefore have ye left your sheep
on the lonely mountain steep? Refrain
"As we watched at dead of night,
lo, we saw a wondrous light;
angels singing 'Peace on earth'
told us of the Savior's birth." Refrain
Sacred Infant, all divine,
what a tender love was thine,
thus to come from highest bliss
down to such a world as this. Refrain
Teach, O teach us, holy Child,
by thy face so meek and mild,
teach us to resemble thee,
in thy sweet humility. Refrain
My favourite Christmas Carol ever. I can imagine the angels singing this out with any congregation around the world on Christmas day.
Praise His name!

It's so nice to hear Hymns, because it can help you to remember something in your life, it is so amazing.
My grandfather loved this song so much. Ever since I have Bern looking for this song all my life. He used to sing in my mother tongue which is Bemba. Finally today someone gave me the English version ❤️❤️❤️
perfect rendition.veryvery meaning ful song
Beautiful scenery. One of my childhood and favorite Christmas carols.
This is not a song I know. I do love the older Hymns and Gospel songs! Thank you for posting this song!
For a 19th century hymn, it's surprising it's not sung more often.
I love those upbeat Christmas hymns
One of my best

My first day in school was sometime in February 1944, a few weeks after my sixth birthday in January. My mother took me to the Saint Mary of the Isles school in Cork City run by the Sisters of Mercy. It was overlooked by the three spires of the Church of Ireland Cathedral of Saint Finbarre. A short walk in the other direction along the south branch of the River Lee got me to Beamish and Crawfords Brewery and to Barrack Street where my parents had a pub. At that time it was known as 'The Apple Market Tavern'. Today that pub, once our family home, is called 'The Brown Derby' (www.goldenpages.ie/brown-derby-cork/2/). As Christmas 1944 approached our teacher, Sister Aloysius Flanagan, taught us the first Christmas carol I ever knew or sung. It was, of course, 'See Amid The Winter's Snow'. Thank you, 'Thenba', for this magical upload.
What a wonderful melody
My favorite! Happy to hear this
Your can have glory in the skin or the soul it's your choice you make your decision.
thank you for uploading this good full version of this carol, appreciated.
i have to sing in choir
Hello favourites
Written by famous English Catholic, Edward Caswell
+Rob Edwards Crikey, written by a left-footer. I may never sing it again. I'll file it away with the Mormons ' Praise to the man'.
Caswell may have converted to Catholicism, but this hymn - firmly rooted in his Anglican heritage and back gound - embraces and transcends both.
I know the words to this carol but usually sing it to a different tune. I'm a Catholic. Perhaps when he converted the tune was changed.
Too bad my speaker is cracking but am sure it is a good song about jesus
Hello, could I please ask permission to use this music in a video? Thank you.
The words are the same but this is not the music to which we sang at my RC school in the fifties.
@binxsterz2000 * i have to sing this in choir
Is that Les Dawson on piano ?

The obvious piano has a story to tell...
to ian thomson: to keep the ear from being bored into a coma!
For a congregation of amateur singers, it is better to keep it in one key. Changing key for the last verse (or, even worse, every verse) only serves to confuse and annoy the congregation. The purpose of the organist is to lead worship of our heavenly Lord, and any self indulgence can only weaken an otherwise reverent praise.
B
5 VERSES ALL IN THE SAME KEY, YUCK! HAVE ENGLISH ORGANISTS NEVER LEARNED HOW TO MODULATE INTO DIFFERENT KEYS. KEEP THE HARP, LOSE THE BARROOM PIANO!
Why? Just to show you can do it!
Most hymns are sung to the same tune throughout. Why the need to modulate? It's not a pop song😮. It does sound better played by an organ or keyboard though.
