I'm not sure what the laws are in Ireland but it would seem reasonable to declare certain properties, like this one that have hosted thousands of tourists over the years enriching that area i would imagine & have it declared a "historical place/home" that could also place restrictions on future usage? It probably should have been done years ago as there are quantifiable advantages to having it declared historic.

Western , especially European demographic countries are not having children to sustainable levels. The policy of mass migration into Western countries by it's governments is to alleviate the population decline. The West and it's adoption of feminism, that is, divergence away from the traditional family structure and roles means women can work and have careers, the affect and consequence of this is less traditional structered family units, abortion on demand,and less children. This woman talks about weddings that sustained her former hotel in the 80's. Marriages in Ireland have halved since then and so have child births to Irish women.. The European population decline in Western countries has been going on since the 70's when feminism became an accepted idea and policy of Western governments. This is not rocket science, yet no one wants to mention the reasons and logic behind mass migration into Western countries. The irony is that the majority of immigrants chosen to become established in Ireland are of the demograph that holds little regard to feminist ideology , womens rights and structure outside of traditional family and marriage. This immigrant demograph has been specifically chosen as large families, traditional family structure and marriage is it's cultural and religious norm and will ensure population sustainability in Ireland going forward, it just won't be Irish nor Christian.
