When it comes to the Chimera they’ll often deploy Steelheads to make any cover unviable to whoever they fight, if that ever did happen that would be a easy victory for the Chimera, but due to the leadership of the Locust they would catch on very quick and start targeting Steelheads as soon as they are spotted, turning the tide of battle for the Locust
I know Resistance wasn't as popular as Gears Of War but i like to think this showdown is quite ironic, Like it's the classic PS3 vs XBOX 360 debate brought to life. Great video as usual, keep at it.
I still believe that the chimera would win a war against the locust horde because the chimera have the better technology with their ships and the big robots, even though the locust have the chimera beat by strength the chimera can convert locust into chimera that would be terrifying but a boom to the chimera
There's also the larger more powerful chimera strains like the leviathan, brute, titans, and Brawlers just to name a few that will quickly close the strength gap without the need to convert the locust.
I have some very sexy ideas: what if the Chimera invaded during the Pendulum Wars? What if the Locust invaded during Resistances 1950s? How would these scenarios play out?
Well long story shirt if the Locust attacked in 1950 well um.....humanity is pretty fucked like the Chimera, Locust don't need their cities or even them alive so what's stopping em from you know.....sinking their city. Last checked everything built up to today is on "solid ground" hehehehe, hell even if they attacked now in 2023 we'd all die. Now the Chimera attacking during Pendelum wars would be something harder. Unlike in the Locust Wars, here the Coalition had far more resources besides Immulsion and were in a state of experimentation with new things such as the world's greatest magnifying glass, the lightmass bomb,Maelstrom device and ectera. I'm also sure the UIR would set apart their differences cause that's what they did when the Locust attacked and join up to defend humanity. It'll be a long war, very long war but a battle of attrition is something the C.O.G can do and the Chimera cannot.
I love me crossovers. This is tough as both are relatively equal with their own pros and cons. Not sure if Drones can rip Hybrids as easy as you say. Despite their lean appearance, Hybrids are deceptively strong. The Chimera don't just adapt to their enemies tactics, they straight up steal them since converting the humans means their knowledge is made available to the hive mind including how they fight. You left out how the hybirds would be far more resilient thanks to their regeneration so they can take bullets and quickly heal from it. Something the Drones don't have. Also, psychological warfare doesn't effect the Chimera. They are quick to adapt and find solution immediate after encountering a problem like when the Carrier strains was compromised and they made the Spinners. In my estimation, this is a coin toss.
Yeah, but just a defense for the Locust now with the coalitions origin they were basically made to be super soldiers and have durable hides for firearms. Though the games depict them as sort of cannon fodder, in the expanded universe they are much more brutal and vicious in combat
You also forget that most Gears of War weapons are particularly made to maim and destroy whilst Resistance plasma weaponry is meant to burn. If a Drone gets hit with a Bullseye round he'll get slight skin rash but if a Hybrid gets hit with a Hammerburst round he'll need a new limb and that's if it doesn't hit centre mass or worse their heat regulator.
Man it’d be so cool to see a Chimeran strain of Locust mutation. Or of even the hollow creatures. Imagine if the Chimera found one of the Trinity of worms? Or maybe the Locust can’t be successfully mutated because of its already complicated dna structure.
I don't that need it, they had both the Burrower and the Earth Mover also its warm underground they wouldn't want to bother with what's beneath too long
I love seeing you cover Resistance lately, its such a underrated franchise,. Another things you could have a versus video for are Locust vs the Strogg from Quake 2, 4, and Wars. They are very similar to the Chimera, think a heavy metal ultra gory version of the borg from star trek.
am a gears of war fan but I have to disagree with this one. At first I thought you meant unsupported drones vs unsupported hybrid but if your talking about emergence holes then that was done by corpsers (spider creatures) not the drones themselves else that would imply the chimera are allowed their tunneling machines since they use them in combat as well. If we are talking about a full blown war locust vs chimera , then the chimera win 99% the time , simply due to having better technology , chimera are just as ferocious fighters and have monsters that can rival any locust soldier or war beast . the chimera also have tunneling technology that can easily reach locust underground locations. they also have airships to place their conversion centers , even if they dont they can easily relocate to areas the locust cant dig through. if we are talking about just unsupported Drones vs unsupported hybrid then we need to understand both are literally intelligent monsters bred for war, according to lore they are both are immune to psychological pain , immune to low moral both ferocious, cunning and are both strong enough to pick up and throw a full grown human soldier like its nothing so any strength difference is minor, hybrids can also regenerate quickly. so from a physical and mental standpoint they are almost equal. however if all other aspects (numbers , environment , knowledge ect) are equal , then hybrids win most of the time given that their equipment is more advanced .
I love both games as they are my childhood. But a battle between two would most likely see the locust horde emerging victorious in a short amount of time, seeing how quickly they utilize tunnel networks to get around the world and the fact that they wiped out most of humanity in just a day (but also because COG started nuking their own cities).
Personally, I’d like to see how Gears turned into Sentinels (Sentinel Gears? Gear-tinels?) would fare against both the Chimera and the Locust. Even Locust with Chimeran weapons would find the fight to be a difficult one.
The cloven were in Retribution, god I miss that game. It was like the pocket Gears of War I always wanted, just with a resistance aesthetic, but dam that multiplayer was a blast.
That's because of Fear tactics and ambush methods. I'd be scared if that armored company behind me just sunk into the ground along with my hope, courage and all feelings of "I'm going make it home " and then the Boogeymen themselves come up from hell. Imagine that and tell if you still feel like fighting. The Gears weren't weak or trained badly they were simply too scared to fight. Morale is one third of an army after all.
