    I disagree with the shock collar!?! Hes already aggressive and not ok.....so it's not a good idea to train wt a shock collar, unless its ONLY used for the sound of the collar for an attention grabber.

      Charlene Cork the shock collars are miss used and mistaken for electric collars constantly.
      One channel gave a good example. shock collars are vibrating boxes on a loop and a substitute for a leash as communication, should only be put on the lowest setting (so low where you can’t feel it) be used for mostly getting the dog’s attention and put where the box is on the back of the neck.
      It’s an odd feeling but shouldn’t be scary or painful! The dog will realize what the odd feeling on the back of his neck means, that he’ll receive a command.
      An exercise the trainer did was saying sit then click the button for half a second vibration. If it doesn’t sit you say sit then hold the button so it vibrates continuously until the dog sits. After give reward! Then do other things so the dog knows its for attention to you.
      I’m not sure if that’s how he said it but I’ll find a link and comment it.

      @stan S it doesnt matter how low the frequency , I once thought that as well untill I learned a different way. I go off of science. Look up how it scientifically effects your dogs brain and heart rate, giving your dog a negative response verses positive. The best and most efficient way to train ANY type of dog is through POSITIVE reinforcement.

    • @charlene274
      @charlene274 4 года назад +1

      @stan S you are making the dog respond in fear of something uncomfortable. Best to use positive.

    Are these dogs wearing some electric collar? This is not dog training dude. This is animal abuse and hope someone will report you to appropriate authorities. BTW would love to see a video of you wearing this collar. I will be delighted to press the button.

      Duke has a video where he puts an E-Collar on and several more of people putting it on themselves and telling him that it does not hurt. I myself have experienced the sensation of electric collars, so maybe you should do your research before posting ignorant comments on someone's video who is saving and rehabilitating dogs on a daily basis and calling it abuse.

      PI,
      I have been around dogs over 50 years. I have always strived to have well behaved, healthy, happy dogs. They can add so much to everyone who comes in contact with them when well trained. From your comment, you must not know what reward based training and e collar training REALLY is.
      If you did, you would know that the stimulation that a dog receives to guide it through training and commands is similar to the stimulation one might receive in physical therapy and rehabilitation. Duke Ferguson has outstanding, healthy, happy trained dogs. He has helped shelters train dogs that become great companions and get rescued to live out their lives in a home rather than get put down at the shelter. He teaches you to be interactive and involved with your dog every day and make them part of your family. It is a pleasure to have a well behaved, happy dog, as opposed to a lethargic, problematic, untrained dog. Try it or at least visit a trainer who uses his methods. Ask those who train with his methods and find out what they really think. You will be pleasantly surprised!!!

      I've been around dogs most of my life and I've noticed that most (but admittedly not all) people who express such extreme opinions, tend to have to have (comparatively-speaking) the most ill-trained, unruly and unhappy dogs.
      I have used and will continue to use e-collars for training. I started using one for the first time after seeking professional training on how to use it. As well, I used it on myself before I tried it on my dog. I'd have no problem having you press the button.

      P I you said you would love to see e collar on my neck... well here is a video with the e collar on me as per your request. ruclips.net/video/e3MIlmh406Q/видео.html
      Modern day e collars and modern day methods are not what you think and if you really look you'll see the dog happy and comfortable!

      P I u clearly not have any clue on what u are talking about this is a European line working Doberman and not a poodle and if this dog have some issues u can easily train a dog with an e collar as long it doesn't hurt the dog if it did hurt the dog trust me the dog will remember and when the shit is off it would rip them apart so don't worry totally fine the dog does not suffer for anything at all they don't hold it for more than a nano sec then release he button which give the dog a quicker snap than a prong or a choke chain does u do know every military dog class use e collar ? It isn't for fun the most Well trained dogs in the world have been through that type of exercise which includes an e collar ofc it isn't something they brag with but it's 99.9% that use e collars on such working breeds and trust me I know for an fact how the police dogs in my country works and that isn't near close to the ones around the world they use the term positive training which lead to the dogs pulling them down the street even tho they are searching for something or maybe to find a suspect so well behaved no I don't think so they are rather wild in nature because the police have no clue in how to train such dogs but it's still abusing the dog at demonstrations which is very stress full very unpleasant for the dog which leads to a lot of issue might I ask u do u own any type of working breed ? More specific a European lined working Doberman? Or any other high drive working breed if yes how it's going with it what type is it let me know :) otherwise don't be to nosey about others business if this can save the dogs life I would do it
