I just followed the links from one of my favorite local shops in Fayetteville WV, Lost Appalachia Trading Co. to your instagram and then, this wonderful film. It brought smiles and tears and chuckles too. It’s a wonderful accomplishment and I’ll be sharing it with my hiking group. Thank you for taking the time to make this film…for keeping it real. It touched my heart on several levels, not the least of which is being able to share that kind of experience with your sister- something I can only dream about. Treasure God’s gifts of nature and each other always ~ ❤

This was absolutely beautiful. I am the second of 4 sisters and have lost #1 and #3 in 2.5 years time. #4 and I have always been the closest like you and Clara and we love all the same things. Only she lives in Georgia and I live in Texas. She lost her husband 1 month after our #3 sister died. So your film meant a great deal to me and I am determined that we will (Lord willing) have a trip together. Thank you.

How nice it is. I wish to experience this one day being outside of a city. What the two of you are doing is really nice. It’s a great experience two sisters bonding with each other alone out of nowhere. That’s what I love most….being close to each other. The closeness you have is remarkable.

I found you because a friend showed me a beer label that had a zebra swallowtail on it. I am working on restoring the zebra swallowtail back to Pittsburgh and a very important part of that is covering many areas slower than some of my friends want to go. I am thinking specifically of floating down the Youghiogheny documenting pawpaws as I went with someone who normally runs marathons, and then having to paddle quickly to catch up! Later on I met some botanists who love going slow. I have been able to learn so much more when with slower companions and also by returning to the same area again and again.
If you are curious, I did make a video that explains what I am doing. I’m not a cinematographer but I try to make things clear and hopefully compelling because this butterfly, and of course pawpaws, used to be very common in many areas in the east that were highly industrialized.
