I’m 40 years old & I been listening to Yanni for 18 years my mother took me to his concert in 2004 I loved him every sense 😊
Luis Aquino is one of the finest trumpet in the world. The clarity,modulation and texture in that solo using a flugelhorn is outstanding.
He is awesome, but like with most famous musicians...popularity doesn't necessarily make one the world expert. Even the pros take lessons every now and then.

I was on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier in 1984. Shore leave in Barcelona Spain and started following the crowd. They led me to a Yanni concert. My musical life changed from that day on
My fourth time listening today in September 2023 to this superb masterpiece. Gets better each time. I first heard it in 1997. I had the privilege of attending his concert when he came to the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, PA. A truly wonderful experience. Such elegance and style. Reaches straight to your soul. The last note is so hauntingly beautiful. Noone can surpass Yanni.

When I referred to Luis Aquino as a "top notch trumpet player" I was referring to him regardless of the instrument he was playing at the time, which indeed was a flugelhorn - no disagreement there. I was not sure if you were saying it did not matter WHO was playing it but that it was so good because it was a flugelhorn rather than a trumpet.
@@garypederson2767 Sorry, no offense taken. Just that so many people do not know the difference between a Trumpet and Flugelhorn.. I was just pointing out the difference in the instruments and the sound is different. (My brother played the Flugelhorn AND Trumpet and I heard that the entire time I was growing up to the point of wanting to hide both instruments at times LOL) AND I definitely agree with you that Luis Aquino is top notch, I do not think they come any better and I have seen several different men play his part in different arrangements of this song and they can not hold a candle to him..he is the best, So I was just pointing out the difference between instruments.. they do not even look alike.

Vengo con frecuencia a escuchar las diferentes versiones y Luis aquino en India es mas melodica, mas pulida , mas sonora y sin incidentes o notas en scratch, Completamente limpia version. No me atrevo a decirlo como es pero no le encuentro una falla para ser en vivo, es factible se falle, Pero de acuerdo al 100%, la mejor interpretacion es esta y su otra version en China, esta es algo extra aparte.

My favourite Yanni piece of all time. I can watch it 100 times in a row. The Flugel horn solos, the bass solo, the cellos coming in, the keyboard solo all just combined well to catapult this piece to an amazing level!

The accoustic guitarist is the silent hero of this whole composition. He is just opening the scopes and giving the space to the trumpet instrument. And kudos to the Ric and Ming ❤️ and obviously Yanni 🥰

Boy, doesn't this song just make ya melt? That bass solo is nothing short of incredible! He makes it appear to be so simple a task and pulls it off smoothly, as one note simply melts into the next. Mr. Aquino is also a master at the trumpet. His rendition is the best. It's not the THC, it's the brilliance of the music. "Oh, wow." - the tag line of the 60's.

Geraldine Mason He was off for sometime cause of health issues. I think he is back again to playing, maybe locally. Haven't seen him touring with yanni
I was born in 1987 .
Mr.Aquino passed away back in 2007. He was found dead. What happened is still unknown. Blunt force trauma is the cause of death. His music and leagcy still survives to this date.
The guy on the trumpet makes it look so easy, sexy and fun. Yanni definitely makes the best music!

He dont have a trumpet; he got a flugel horn, which gives a "fatter, lower, mellower voice" compared to that of the trumpet; its one of my favorite brass wind instruments; peace to all

It isnt a trumpet; it's a flugel horn; it does look like a trumpet but if you look closely youll see the difference not only in construction but sound wise; it delivers a darker mellower type of voice;

Whenever Luis Aquino sways to the music, it kind of looks professional to me. He seems to be really feeling the music by doing that.

I don't think the other solo parts get enough love. That's one of Ric's best solos I've heard, the cellists absolutely killed it and Ming's piano solo was amazing.
