  • English teachers Kristian and Luke from ‪@everydayenglishwithluke‬ talk about cutting things and tools for cutting things. They talk about using scissors to cut paper and using a saw or an ax to cut down a tree.
These lessons are based on AUA Thai Program beginner courses, which used the Automatic Language Growth (ALG) approach developed by Dr. J. Marvin Brown and inspired in part by Dr. Stephen Krashen's ideas and research on comprehensible input.
This lesson is based on part of the Thai lesson in the video "Verbs Part 2 (Thai Conversation Café ft. Understand Thai: Absolute Beginner Intro Course)" on the channel ‪@ComprehensibleThai‬ : • Verbs Part 2 (Thai Con...
Comprehensible English (English Comprehensible Input for ESL Beginners) is creating videos that beginning English learners can easily understand and acquire English from just by watching and listening, no matter what language they speak, even if they don't know any English at all yet.
The videos make English comprehensible to beginners and help learners acquire English using techniques from methods and approaches such as Stephen Krashen's Natural Approach, Automatic Language Growth (ALG), Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS), and Total Physical Response (TPR).
The aim is to teach English in English through a natural approach of helping learners acquire English implicitly, without translation, without explicit teaching of grammar and vocabulary, and without conscious study or practice.

There is currently no rock-solid foundation available for absolute beginners to learn English. It would be incredibly beneficial if you created a complete series of lessons for absolute beginners🤗🤗🤗

Wow! That's great, man! I found your channel more than a year ago, but I didn't want to watch too much because I wasn't sure if it was the best way to learn English. You don't know how much I regret that now, but it doesn't matter ; there's nothing I can do but watch as many of your videos as I can. Actually, I don't feel like I am studying; I feel fresh, which is completely different from the way I used to study, boring, unpleasant and horrible. This is kind of a break , a much better way to rest than wasting your time on social media. It's great that your videos are short because I can go through lots of different videos, different contexts, which is more efficient and more like real life.
You knew what you were saying . I really have a question: Do you think it's right to practice my writing now, or is it better to wait a bit longer?

Khristian please do longer videos, 1 hour and more 🙏
I watch your videos with 1.75x speed and during my eating.
It's really annoying to turn on every new videos when they so short, I can't eat normally, only just needed to clicking all the time 😢

@FUTURAPTER I plan to make both longer and shorter videos because different viewers prefer different lengths of video, but I will try to include longer videos like 30 minutes at least. Have you tried using any of my playlists and set it to play the next video automatically? That might help, but you still might have to skip ads or wait through them, unless you are using something like RUclips Premium. I think I saw a way to play all the videos on a channel before, but that might be gone now. I just made this playlist of all the videos on this channel in order from 2019 to this year, except for the shorts. Let me know if this helps or not: ruclips.net/p/PLqE81DRO-TpFUby7iTm_7M7NWVyze4B82

@@ComprehensibleEnglish Thank you Khristian, no I haven't tried your playlists, because i decided to have watched all videos, I thought that using playlists I can missed something, so I just watch all videos in row started from oldest.
Okay, I will try this playlist if I can play it in right a row, or a line.
Yes I understand that some people like more shorter videos, but I think this because they don't want to spend much time on learning English, but I think it will be very long time for lern English if they spend a little time. So shorter videos I think less useful. And I think 1 hour with 1 video is easier to create than 10 videos with 6 minutes. So longer videos I think faster growing all of time videos on your channel. And people will can learn more because they will have more time's of content for learning.
Sorry, I hope you understand what I mean, because its a little hard topic to type it in English without a translator, so I know it has many mistakes ))

@FUTURAPTER If you want a different playlist you can make one, or you can let me know and I can try to make it when I'm not busy. What is your first language by the way? You can type comments in your first language if you like, and I can just use a translator to read them, assuming your language is not a very uncommon language.

@@ComprehensibleEnglish no, thank you, don't need to create another playlist, I just don't know what playlists works, I usually don't use it on RUclips, but i will try. I write without a translator because it's also help me improve English, so i don't want to use my language)
Good luck Khristian, just make what you think is good, I just tell my opinion that I prefer longer videos, but I like shorter too)
So don't think too much about my topic comment )

I like this channel, but in my opinion the other guy doesn't help you at all. He looks so planned. You know? Without any feelings. He is very cold. Totally different than you. You are more enthusiastic and kind. Maybe you need a non-native speaker to showcase the effectiveness of the comprehensible input method.

    • @ComprehensibleEnglish
      @ComprehensibleEnglish  4 месяца назад

@carlosmotiongraphicsdesign8101 Thank you for your feedback. If by the other guy you mean Luke, I think you might be judging based on some parts of some of these videos where he may not appear very enthusiastic. Overall I find Luke to often be very expressive and entertaining, and I admire his talents that he brings to these videos. Based on the comments I've seen, I think many viewers enjoy watching and listening to him and to our interactions. We both have our own ways of expressing ourselves and communicating in English to make it comprehensible to learners, with similarities and differences.
I think it might be that I am often doing a lot of talking and he is listening, and also we recorded these videos later in the day, in the evening, and they often took much longer than we expected to record them. So he might seem less expressive at times because of all those factors. As the "director" of these videos, I take responsibility for this, and I will try to address this if Luke and I record more videos together, in order to better showcase his abilities and expression.
For now on this channel I want to feature native speakers like myself and Luke in order to provide learners with the opportunity to hear English spoken with common accents and pronunciation of native speakers in a comprehensible way so they can acquire English and its sounds. But I will consider how I might include non-native speakers in some way in some future videos. One way that sounds to me like what you are describing to showcase this method might be to have videos with a native speaker like me and a non-native speaker who is beginning to speak English after acquiring English starting from scratch by watching and listening to comprehensible videos like these for many hours.
