Fun seeing analysis going back to S1 roots, well done. Haven’t seen this specific angle of tying victor’s observations on humanity back to the very first fight scene. We never think of the price exacted by change. 7:50 Speaking of features from the opening that show up later, these horns look familiar. Cheers.
Always enjoy these sorts of commentaries on scenes and film-making! When I watch a show, all this stuff goes completely over my head, and I'm just living in the moment. It's only when I get to enjoy stuff like this that I get to enjoy the details people have noticed and how they contribute to the initial enjoyment I felt.
0:56 there’s also the flashing “the end” in Jinx’s style as if she’s saying this is the end of this story. If it was any other character, we wouldn’t doubt what an “end” to the story means to them, in fact this is just the end of the start of some of their stories (like Mel’s), but we can’t be sure about what “end” Jinx would be hinting at here. Maybe she’s trying again to move on
I am glad you made this comparison and showed just how much impact the visuals of this show have. It's never about just writing, it's also how it is shown, and Arcane has some of the absolute best imagery I have ever seen because the creators utilize the medium of animation to its absolute fullest here. If you have full control over the image, this is what you can create. Even the most minute detail or the stylistic choices impact the story itself.

@@bobisuncanny2760 Ok, mabe I wrote it wrongly, what I meant was s1 is consistent in cosquences and literally everyone pays the price, no matter main character or side, while in s2 there are consequences to many actions however they don't feel as impactfull as in s1, and ultimately whole story loses it's identity from "story of opposites" ,and focus on all characters executed perfectly in s1, to blank characters which makes nonsense decisions, and in finalle some of them pays the price however it is not even in 1/100000 as impactfull as s1 finale episode which shows not only consequences but consequences of consequences of consequences

Season 2 expands on themes from the first season, and continues on down the line of consequences of consequences of consequences. S2E07 shows this beautifully. Ekko sees a world where Vi dies during the explosion. Because of this, Jayce is either dead or exiled, Victor and Jayce never develop hextech so there's no industrial revolution. Silco and Vander end up making up so there's no chembarons, and Piltover and Zaun are able to reconcile their differences so there's no continuation of conflict leading to prosperity for the lanes. Powder is never groomed into a weapon so there's no Jinx, but also no need for a guerilla revolution from the undercity. Ambessa never comes to the city for a weapon so there's no martial law. Consequences of consequences of consequences in a different direction. All of the groundwork that season 1 laid out is expanded on in season 2 because it doesn't need to be rehashed, so instead we continue seeing the long term effects

Beautiful. After the 3rd Imp.. Act dropped, I have started to see so much. Some say it was rollercoaster.... well I am still on it, I honestly dont see how to exit this ride, lucky I actually got some time on my hand. This video excited me so much. You showed me that I have not gone too far and my feelings are correct: Arcane is a whole Library. If you try to look for holes in the plot or the characters, you will see a whole new universe. As someone who waisted 15 years of his life, well 5 years intensely, on League, this all hits different. It is funny because I made my peace with playing the game, nowadays I play maybe 5 games a week and I do enjoy it. At some point I really wondered: If they also want to portrait normal life, why cant I see anyone doing something similar to playing League? Since asking that question, I was really afraid of mentioning gaming again while exploring the Arcane. Vi stands for Violence and she is intensively trying to get higher on the solo-q ladder, ehm, I mean scoreboard :) The 2D/3D gaming thing you mentioned was something I would have never thought of thinking about, but like with anything in the Arcane, once you see it you cant unsee it anymore. And all the things reflectedand, the implications in Zaun being a more primitive 2D game, while Piltover more feels like an open 3D world. So beautiful. I can give you a few keys, to some doors I found, brother. The cake is a lie, Vi is the monster that was created - the pigdog of Piltover. Speaking of dogs, did you see any? weid right, despite all the wolf scenes? The song 'sexual healing' and 'I want to get away' from Kravitz are literally the theme playing in Season 2 Act 3. It made me so happy for Jinx, when I found out she is pregnant. I didnt like the signs of misscarriage, the cards showed me though. Neon Genesis Evangelion broke me mentally when I saw it back then, I am currently reliving that trauma, but in a very different uplifting way. One that makes me hope. One that makes me see the beauty in life, humanity and their struggles, while not hiding the ugly truths. Well it does but it will tell you if you have an open mind and you are ready to explore. All the adventures life might still have in store for me. A true Inspiration. Something revolutionary. Peter Thiels development from 0 to 1. A new step for humanity, and maybe even a bigger one than you all can imagine. Arcane is also a game. You are encouraged to always ask: Why? weird, I just realized. Vi and Why is pronounced exactly the same. My mother used to do the same, it is the most beautiful childhood memory, I have with her. If it was something 'scientific' my mother would always patiently explain me everything. She never oppressed the explorer in me quite in contrast to my teachers. Sorry for oversharing, but Arcane is truly the Alpha and the Omega. It is a revolution, lead by Riot Games. Oh wait, I driftet away: DONT BE AFRAID TO EXPLORE THE VOID! MAKE YOUR OWN HEAD CANNON. THINK WHAT THE CHARACTERS MIGHT HAVE DONE IN THE SITUATIONS YOU DONT SEE. It is like a Lückentext and while I would argue that some pieces just do not fit, while for some others you just know it has to be gone down like this, but this in itself can be a multiverse, because I am sure there is often not only 1 right answer.
Not entirely sure why this video has a different vibe from the previous ones but was a bit bummed given how much I like your channel. Feels more like a course in superficial observation rather than deconstruction of layers, but perhaps Arcane is so incredibly on the nose that everything is already on screen repeatedly smashed in your face with the most melodramatic music. essays about it need to dive past that to get more insightful. Would have loved to hear you break down why S2 lost what made S1 so efficient in terms of storytelling, pace, direction. Or why the change in narrative perspective from character driven to world driven chipped away at the meaning of all of its characters in favor of Marvel tropes. Or how over-animation of S2 ended up paradoxically hampering even some the most wonderful animation ever put on screen. S2 is the most impressive tech demo from a fantastic studio where the most frantic kinetic action drowned itself into bland noise and pandering script. When even the studio heads are public about their need for self reflection there is a fascinating topic to dig into that I wish you had. I hope this doesn’t sound too harsh because I know how much work goes into these
