Hi Nikki - thanks for your great content. I'm a new FBA seller and am primarily sending in used books. I've been hunting around for what else I can sell as a new seller, have only found a few things so far. I'm definitely going to have to find out how to get ungated in other categories. Question - what do you use to scan products in stores? Do you use the Amazon seller app, or some other paid tool? Thanks again!
Nice video. I wanted to know, is DNA the only way you can sell on Amazon? Do you have to have a store? Or can you just have a normal account under which you can post whatever items you want to sell?

Matthew Barker hey Matthew! I send most of my stuff FBA so it’s all in my dining room slide of the RV for a day when I pack it up and then I take it to the UPS store. When I do FBM it’s mostly small stuff and it fits in cabinets I have or just on or under my desk. For supplies etc I have one small cabinet in the RV it’s about 3 foot by 3 foot and holds everything!
You have one of the very best of the best RUclips channels for retail arbitrage advice, terminology, and other great information. I regard you as the official "retail arbitrage advice lady." I will have more questions for you in the future, but just a few for now. Do I need a DBA form? Can I do without a state sales tax identification number, or tax I.D. number since I pay sales tax at the retail store of my purchases? Does Amazon provide me with a 1099 or similar earnings statement for annual tax filing?

are you scanning the barcode on the item in the app?
As suggested, went to Walmart to check out the clearance aisle. But for mostly everything I scanned it said, “Don’t see your product. Create a new listing.” What does that mean? Can I still try to sell it if it’s not listed on Amazon? What does that mean? Can I still sell on Amazon?
so what you're saying is you start in the clearance aisle, but then just go down non-clearance ones and start scanning those also?

I have watched a lot of your videos and I found them very informative. I have a question: I really want to start with the retail arbitrage but I am a little confused and I have nobody to help me with this issue.
In order to start with my retail arbitrage, do I have to install Amazon Seller Central app on my phone which costs 39.99? And when I try to install the app on my phone it asked me for a LEGAL NAME ? Can you please help me?

Hey, you need an amazon selling account, there are free individual level accounts and your legal name is your legal name unless you have a business then you would put in your legal business name.

Can you get an invoice from a distributor as an individual or do you need an LLC?

What is Ungated and how to do it ?
I was wondering the same thing
Certain Amazon categories are “gated” to sellers unless they can provide a wholesale INVOICE (not the same as a retail receipt which won’t get you ungated. It MUST be an actual INVOICE from either the brand or one of their authorized distributors) to prove you are a legitimate business sourcing authentic products, not counterfeit ones.

@@mariajames1369 The main gated categories are grocery, topicals, over the counter medicines, toys and personal care/household. To sell an item for any of these categories (if you’re not ungated,) you’ll get an “apply to sell” message. It will ask you to upload an invoice for at least 10 of that item from a distributor authorized by that brand as well as photos that you must take (not screenshots from the internet.) I used Nikki’s guide for Grocery, topicals and OTC and got ungated for each of those categories by following it.

It depends on what the supplier is requesting. For my guides you need a resale license for the toy one but nothing at all for the topical / grocery one
