I’m ashamed. I was practicing yoga for 10years, thinking I was just stretching my body. Until a Christian friend of mine told me about this practice. I immediately stopped! To say I am asking for forgiveness and repenting everyday.

This group, called Patanjali, codified the many various forms of spiritual practices at the time. Yoga is just one of six schools of thought in India. Most Hindys consider it a lower form to reach realisation. It is for the lazy. The real spiritual path us through Vedanta and the Vedas, like the Upanishads. Raja yoga is the physical path to enlightenment. The mental path, as in jnana Yyoga, is the higher path. Only thr ignorant choose the path of Raja yoga. Also, traditionally, Yoga was only practice by wealthy males who were considered worthy by a guru. They had to prove themselves worthy of becoming a student to the guru. But, in the west, it is a practice mainly done by women. This is blasphemy in India.

Regular yoga classes only teach stretching. They don't have anything to do with occult practice. The point of the physical exercise is to unburden your body so that your meditation/prayer is easier, and you can direct your spiritual practice however you want to.

You talk like you've studied this verse. This verse is not about yoga. What proof do you have that Jesus studied in India? You need to read about Hebrew tradition and what it takes to be a Rabbi. Study Old Testament and learn how long it takes to get to the theology stage to fully understand. I've been studying the Bible and I am still learning. The things of God are not easy to understand. Here's a Scripture for you: "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts" Isaiah 55: 8-9. It takes humility to learn from Him, of Him and His ways. Also read Isaiah chapter 40.
