Yeah I think you are correct. I think they are more like the characters from the horror movie 'us'. I was attracted/drawn to to what I thought was a reflection of myself in them. But it became a warped version, when I opened myself up to them I became tethered to them.
It was like they were in a bad point in their life when I met them and they managed to somehow suck all the good out of me and left me a shell if myself, like they exchanged their bad energy for my naivety and openness.
I was left the most confused and lost I had ever been in my life. We hadn't even dated and I only knew them for 2 months, but it took 3 years to suck the poison out. My life turned to $h1t, and their life flourished, I think they may have even married.
This twin flame stuff is dangerous because you try to rationalise an awful connection as something to romanticise about when all it is, is bad bad energy.

I guess I'll post an update for anyone interested: I'm doing better in nearly all areas of my life and I no longer feel angry or feel anything at all towards my ex. I've gotten tempted a few times to take this person back into my life because of his heart-felt apologies and whatnot...but everytime I say "no", it became easier to say the next "no" until he's completely out of the picture. As for the matter of twin flames, i don't pay any attention to it anymore like I used to. Whether or not I have one or I meet "my twin flame", I'll be okay... because I feel at peace with myself already and that's what really counts. The idea of twin flames shows how people create their own realities. The amount of justifying and rationalizing makes it seem they are living in their own fantasy world. For example, a twin flame 'blocking you' is a sign that you caused an emotional reaction in them and they aren't indifferent towards you"...(whatever you need to say to make yourself feel better!) It's a lot of mind gymnastics

Thank you for making this video. I think there's a lot to the "Twin Flame" scenario. I did informal, global research into this and a lot of these "divine counterparts" who cause so much pain and trauma are hosted by an entity working through them to siphon the other person's energy (usually the "divine feminine's" energy is siphoned). It's sad because it causes a lot of pain and trauma. A lot of sensitive people with metaphysical gifts are being targeted. In my opinion, the metaphysical aspects (telepathy, etc) should be incorporated into a relationship (if both people have these gifts), however this is never discussed because, for the most part, humans have been dumbed down and are not able to access these gifts. Therefore, when a person comes along and there is metaphysical involvement (telepathy, astral realm involvement, etc), it's immediately assumed it's something special and good when, in fact, 9 times out of 10, the person is siphoning your energy. We need to discuss this more often. The "Twin Flame" construct serves to keep people in constant longing. There can be spell work involved and it truly is a spiritual attack for some. But there's also people who simply can't face rejection when someone tells them "no", hence that person becomes their "Twin Flame" as an ego defense so they don't have to face rejection. The Twin Flame concept serves as a type of umbrella concept to host multiple scenarios.

As someone who has been married thirty one years I can say that in our relationship we're both independent and secure in ourselves and we choose to be together and love each other. Desperation and codependency are never good in a relationship. They automatically put you below the other instead of as their equal which is where you want to be. A true relationship is a joining of equals who consent to give their best to the relationship. It allows for the trust, love, and intimacy you need to have for the long run. None of this obsession stuff is good. True, we do call ourselves soul mates but from what you said about twin flames it sounds obsessive, immature, and dangerous. This reminds me of my partner’s ex wife. She left him for her “Twin Flame” which led to an on and off relationship for five years with someone that lied to her, cheated on her, etc. The relationship didn’t even come to an end after she found letters he wrote that suggested he was having inappropriate thoughts he was keeping seeking about a very young girl he knew….which was a concern because she has a young daughter herself.
Of course they are no longer together. I suspect my partner’s son - who was old enough to observe this all going on - probably pieced it all together that she was cheating on his father as well. I feel so bad for him. She basically tore her family apart due to her obsession with this one guy - to the point where she was putting him over her own children. No one ever seems to think about this - the impact of the “Twin Flames” belief on kids.

Honestly there are a few true cases but it's less than 10 percent and most don't make it because it is a co dependent relationship and always off and on or ones married or something it's not something worth chasing after and nog going out and meeting others because your holding out for this rare love that will most likely not come together. Very enlightening. As a victim of narcissistic abuse I feel part of the twin flame delusion is rooted in narcissism...Why would I try to find someone else who is me? Why do we need a mirror? Why do we always try to externalize what is already inside us? It's a twisted form of projection. I'm trying to be what I seek. Then I won't need to seek any more. It's all right here. Do I cry with loneliness? Yes. But it's better than destabilizing the self I have built after years of pain and trauma. I am a twin flame - it's not the best, in fact, I would have never consciously chosen it. I spent most of my journey really rejecting that I am on one. There is a lot of doubt and it has nothing to do with the other person, it's all about you - you are loving yourself only. You can also magnetize your twin into your life and choose not to be with them and go with a soul mate instead. they don't complete you at all, it's not very romantic by traditional standards at all. And as someone who has been in many abusive relationships - this is not like that at all. I am in search of an explanation. I know about narcs, avoidants, was married 20 years, dated others. I see connections in all this but still can't explain my experience based on all this. I truly understand the full experience. It's not easy to move on. Ending a 3 mos relationship left me as depressed as ending a 20 year marriage and way more attached still. Odd very odd.

I think he is Endgame. And I'm glad that we are not Twin Flames because our Relationship is healthy and beautiful, without ups and downs, just harmonic. I think that if they ARE real, then it's a comfortable, respectful, healthy relationship. One in which you were complete without each other, but together you support each other on your own healthy life journeys and are partners who spur each other on towards growth. It's calm. It's mature. Maybe that isn't as romantic, but honestly? Give me a partner who notices when I've been down lately and asks me what's wrong, listens, provides his own insights if I ask and is THERE for me. That's magical.
Anytime I hear people talking about this the first thing that comes to mind is narcissistic love bombing. My grandmother is a narcissist and I had a very codependent borderline friendship in the past. It did feel special sometimes! She would say all the time how the universe had given us this magical connection and I was the best friend she'd ever met and I believed her b/c it sounded nice! But the truth is this is love bombing.......it's kinda a classic narc/codependent story. But after I was belittled and discarded it did not hurt my ego. You don’t need to justify or try prove how much love you have for someone. Everybody is different. I’m an emotional person myself. I’m halfway through your video and I agree with what you’re saying about twin flame bullshit! I think it’s ridiculous! Having said that I’m going through it myself and I hate it and I’m over the whole twin flame crap! The symptoms of twin flame separation is what I connected with because of the pain I felt like no other separation pain that I’ve ever felt. The videos came up on my RUclips page, after I was complaining about the pain to some friends, I had an iPad with me, listening to music, hence how I got hooked. I never believed in soulmates because we’re all soulmates, now I don’t know what to do with this twin flame crap? I needed this message like my "twin flame" lied, used me, left me for d3ad and got another woman pregnant and she threw it in my face. Everything that went on constantly replayed over and over and over etc in my head for several years. I felt like everything was my fault.
I still managed to move on and rebuild my life and it was so hard i felt alone like my world was shattered and he was off having a family, buying a home starting a business with her.
I found love again with a beautiful person/ man, who never made me question where i stood in his life. We have a home and share a drama free progressive life together. I no longer believe in twin flames like yeah you had an intense connection with this person, but love isn't supposed to hurt you or make you feel insecure like you're not chosen or special since this person don't want to do right by you. Let it go and apply that loving energy into yourself not someone who makes you chase after them.

I actually believe in twin flames, based on my personal experience. I had a strong relationship full of synchronicities and stuff, there was REAL telepathy. So I believe in that.

This is my story. Sorry, it is long.
I had never heard of twin flames before, and wasn't into new age thought. Once I did meet a person who had a lot of the characteristics the TF gurus list. Meeting that person was transformative for me, but not in the way you think. It did feel like looking into a mirror and starkly seeing both my strengths and weaknesses. It plunged me into a deep interest in self-discovery, psychology, and, by Grace, to create a beautiful healing community that I love.
But here's the thing I realized: It wasn't actually about the other person!! Yes, meeting that person may have kicked off a chain reaction that have lead to some gifts today, but it's not like they were intending that. In fact, this "twin flame" walked away and I never heard from them again! Ultimately, it had nothing to do with them, but everything to do with me. I do believe God/Higher Power can use people to come into our lives for a reason, but it doesn't mean that they will stay or that they're even conscious of what they're helping to orchestrate. If they walk away, there's no need to pine; their part in the play of your life has been accomplished! The story will continue without them.
I think the TF idea can be a waste of time & mental energy if you believe it too much or expect this person to come back & stay with you.
Once a spiritual teacher I greatly admire was asked the question: "Are soulmates real?" He replied: "God is your true soulmate". I don't think they've ever heard of the idea of a twin flame, but we could say: "God is your true twin flame." Ultimately, we are always united with God, even when we don't consciously realize it, and God/Higher Power will bring opportunities into our lives for our self-discovery, growth and to fulfill our purpose. If there's one thing I've learned about this "twin flame" experience, it's to rely on God, that eternal well-spring of love & connection, from which we are never separated.
My twin flame and I are finally in union and yes it is a great relationship. It took years but we got here. People idolise twin flame relationships and think it is the best and only relationship to strive for- it’s not. It is not about finding someone to be with it is about growing yourself. In my experience twin flames are real, BUT, I agree that the trend became mostly toxic and dangerous for people. I left all twin flame communities because they were not helping me at all. The promise of the fairy tale union, or hearing that we are doing something wrong if we are not united with them is just horrible. The twin flame is a catalyst for a spiritual journey of the self. Its about self evolving and remember that we are LOVE, we are eternal souls. Its very personal for each one of us. It doesn’t mean getting together in this lifetime. People need to evolve and let go. The soul connection will always be there, because its just the nature of it, but there’s no point in holding onto it with human expectations. I see the connection like when we loose a loved one to death. We will always love and remember them, cherish them in our hearts, but we move on with life. There is no other choice.

I hear you about the ego trap... but is it the Twin Flame idea that as an ego trap or the ego looking for things to make itself important finding a new idea to reinforce itself with? You are correct that it can be an ego trap, a self delusion, and cause trauma. It can also be a means to show you where your wounds are so you can heal them, it can be a catalyst for growth, and it can show you VERY CLEARLY that you can be One with All That Is in super practical ways. Like anything, we can receive it in a low vibrational ego obsessed way, or a high vibrational “what is there for me to learn about Consciousness” way.
I have a TF type relationship. We HATED AND LOVED each other, and it did look hella toxic for a while. However, we used that, individually, to grow and become whole individually, and to learn that Separation is an illusion. I don’t follow gurus, but this relationship created so much expansion and growth toward understanding Oneness with All That Is. We never got caught up in all the stuff you are talking about... we just kept getting pushed together by the Universe, no matter how far we tried to get from each other. My relationship with him is about Expansion, not romance... the moment we focus on romance, we get this immediate reminder to turn further in and further up.
You are correct that it can be a trap, and people engaging with the experience can get lost in the weeds of making it about this love with another person in a super obsessive way. But, my experience of it flipped when I realized it was about my own expansion. I became a curious observer, and discovered it can also be a really present, visceral, and fun means for growth... I get to choose how I engage in my own soul path.
I cannot outline the whole experience here to explain, and I don’t believe it is a lie, but it is not everyone’s reality. I also don’t think it is “the highest form of relationship.”
There is only one, real, true thing in my schema of reality, and that is The Universal Symphony of Divine Love. Everything else about reality is bendy and flexible. I think we try too hard to control other’s journeys... some people just chose this story to experience what they wanted to experience in this life. Misery and pain can be powerful catalysts for awakening to expanded consciousness, too.

I do have a twin Flame (although I prefer the term “star twin” because to me it just sounds sweeter and less serious) but I’ve never been with them romantically. In my situation, there is absolutely a deep love between us and it’s not at all abusive but we bicker A LOT!.
