Sermon 12: How to have a Genuine Relationship with God
Text: John 15 & 1 John 1
Theme: What it looks like to have a daily walk with God.
The Bible isn’t just a book to read; it’s a book to live
What is the value of understanding the fruit? We know what to look for as evidence of our relationship
Would you like to have a better relationship with your Saviour?
I. The connection is fellowship - What does that look like? (John 15:4; 1 John 1:6, 7)
Connections between John 15 & 1 John 1: both written by John that their joy may be full which is by living in a daily relationship with God
U So, what determines our fellowship (our connection) with Christ is our walk (the way we live)
Let’s look at a biblical example: Gen. 5:22; Heb 11:5; Gen 3:8
Am 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
II. The disconnection is disobedience - What does that look like?
In Genesis 4 we have a story of a man that didn’t walk with God - Cain (Gen 4:13-16)
