Hi there. This is done using a lightboard. It's basically a transparent board with LED's under it. The pens are fluorescent and illuminate with the LED's. It's shot in a dark room and I'm standing behind the board looking at the camera. The end result is inverse and I use software to flip it back for the final cut. It's a great tool for doing this type of teaching. Best of luck :)

30 degrees from the horizontal is the angle for isometric views.
