I was extremely fortunate to have seen this musical Genius on his first tour as he performed in The Arie Crown Theatre in McCormick Place , Chicago ! I was enthralled then & remember my guests being totally overwhelmed by his incredible original performance & wardrobe that befit the young Master ! I still relish the thought of having the honor of a Rick Wakeman performance ...... Appears he does not age or have any decline in his age ! I pray Rick remins in good form & his health remains great. He really doesn't look like he's aged a year .......... Nick , NavyBlueSmoke , LST-1195

When I was stationed in the Air force on the remote Island of Shemya out near the end of the Aleutian Islands, we would turn out the lights in our dorm room and put on Journey to the Center of the Earth. It helped us survive a year’s assignment on this lonely, cold, windy rock in the middle of a the freezing Bering sea. It would take us to a whole different world inside the earth!

Nothing like this could ever be played live on those early synths. They not only played one note at a time (monophonic not polyphonic) but could only be programmed to make one sound, and needed time-consuming rewiring with patch cords before another sound could be produced.
People like Wakeman and Keith Emerson were not just musical virtuosos, they were part engineer too!

Even without backup accompaniment by orchestra and choir, this version of Wakeman's incredible, musical retelling of Jules Verne's classic is a stunning masterpiece! His mastery of numerous keyboards is unmatched by anyone I have ever seen or heard! It is like hearing the show for the first time! The vocalist handles the story well enough, over-emphasizing at points with notes not heard by the original singers in the album of 1974, but the entire performance, without the narrative script, is impressive and memorable! Thanks for this reimagined, stirring, visual upload on one of my favorite albums!

There's Alicia Keys, and then there's the piano rental shop "I'll Lease You Keys". Who has the money for that Rick rig? Wow the bloke makes Jean-Michel Jarre look laid-back.

Extraordinário vocal Ashey Holt. Como o Minimoog fez falta nessa época.

The singer is Ashley Holt, who sang almost all of Wakeman's songs from the '70s through to his 2010 tour.

I think the Wakeman era of Yes was some of the best prog rock ever made .... I am partial to the Wakeman trilogy of Journey , King Arthur & the Six Wives the most I think

A great example of how Rick Wakeman knows how to illuminate his masterpieces with ever new light! Definitively, he is the most creative and versatile keyboard player of all! :-) Absolute magic at min. 6:30. That keyboard sound at min. 15:25! And that improvisation at min. 15:45! Prog on! :-)

I actually don't like the clav sound on the T1, but the brass sounds on the V50 and VFX are excellent.
