I love your voice too, I watch these videos at night and it feels like someone is reading me a bedtime story ! I find early Hollywood so fascinating, thank you for posting 😊
I think it’s AI, a lot of pronunciations are incorrect.
In the this story you mention Howard Chandler Christy. My husband’s grandmother was a beautiful flapper of the 1920s who was the niece of Edouard Lippe who was a composer, musician and actor. He was the vocal coach to Nelson Eddy and was in movie with him 1935 Naughty Marietta. When we settled her estate, we inherited a large Christy painting that appears to be a poster for party called The Circus Ball in 1926. It has the typical Christy girl dressed only in a Tutu like skirt and clown hat. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it hanging in her mid century modern home looking out of place. She said 9n,y that it had sentimental value and we never learned how they acquired it. We have it hanging in our bedroom and I can’t help but wonder who the model was and what the story behind it was. They were avid art collectors but their collections were all mid century modern pieces except the Christy piece. I recently went through a few boxes that ended up with my husbands aunt until her passing this year. Inside I found MGM 9 x12 photographs as of William Powell, Jean Harlow and Nelson Eddy and a travel diary of her 2 week trip to LA as her uncles guest for the movie premiere. They attended parties with Powell, Harlow, Eddy and her Uncle Lippe. In them, she describes in detail the people who attended, the beautiful homes and gorgeous fashion she saw. His grandmother Bobbie lived to be 96 and I had the opportunity to know her but her memory had begun to fail by then. It’s been fascinating to read over her old diaries and look through her mementos from this era. I just wish I had know all this about her then and could have asked her questions. She was just a grandmother to my husband but I’ve learned she was daring, beautiful artistic lady who embraced the lifestyle of the 1920s.
Thank you for this story, she sounds like she had quite a life!
What a fantastic legacy she left to your family.
There is so much info about the history of vintage commercial art and silent movies online.
Old posters go up for auction all the time. With your supporting documents it may be quite valuable!
This is such a cool history, thank you so much for sharing! Harlow is one of my all time favorites of the Golden Era of Hollywood.😊
Side bar: Ziegfeld 's wife, Billie Burke, played Glenda the Good Witch in the Wizard of Oz.
I loved her. She's beautiful.😊❤
I believe that was her last role, too.
One of the most beautiful paintings of her was by Arturo Vargas called " memories of Olive"
Olive was a gorgeous woman of her time. RIP Beautiful woman.
ZIG- FELD!
And Paulette Goddard, Irene Dunne and Hedy Lamarr.
@@squirrelychatter6045 Virginia Rappe and mogul as well.
Fantastic channel,,narrators voice is perfect
I like this channel but I believe the voice AI.
@livingreflection5 I don't think so ,,she mispronounces some words
I absolutely love your channel. You have a speaking voice that makes the story seem so intriguing and real. Your research is amazing.
Glad you enjoy it!
Excellent video. Such an incredible woman.
Oliver's ghost is rumored to haunt the New Amsterdam Theatre.
1:56 i love your voice. Very relaxing
Good job 👍
I love your videos but could you please lower the volume of the rain sound effect? It's a bit distracting and overwhelms your narration at times.
Interesting
Well done
Loved this thank you x
Thank you for watching, see you on the next one!
I found the narrator’s voice to be so familiar (more so on some of the other videos in this series). I realized the voice sounds like Bebe Neuwirth of Cheers & Frasier fame. Considering her additional fame in musical theater & as a dancer, I don’t think she would mispronounce Ziegfeld. I often wonder if some narrations are AI generated which would allow for the crazy mispronunciations on this video & others. (I know NOTHING about how AI works.😅) Or… this isn’t Bebe at all. Nonetheless, the smooth voice & slight lisp are mesmerizing.
I like your soft and candid tone.
She was very pretty.
I am pretty sure this is a system generated voice as the pronunciation on many names is wrong. But still very soothing.
She sounds remarkably like the narrator on another channel that I’ve followed for some time.
@@calliopec544 Could you please link me? Though I’ve enjoyed the few videos I’ve watched, I’d rather not watch undisclosed AI.
Another well constructed exposé! In another and contemporary life, I can see her fronting a rock or punk or grunge band to great success (and hopefully avoiding the pitfalls of embarrassingly desperate cosmetic surgery like many celebrities as they age). I'm not naming names, but I'm thinking of one in particular who has become a caricature of herself.
Very true! And hopefully would have had a long and interesting life in that incarnation.
@@HollywoodMysteries Absolutely agree re your reply!
LIFE IN EARLY 1900s WAS ROUGH
Another lovely video - thank you! I still don’t understand the people who can’t appreciate a calm presentation and actually bitch about it. They just need to stay in the drama corners.
Ziegfeld wasn’t the only mispronunciation: I’m in my sixties and grew up with these names (even when I was a baby my family was a lot older than I was, so I did grow up with these names). I’d be happy to help with those.
I’m nowhere near by 60’s, but grew up with a lot of these people as household names. I can understand how people who only ever see the names spelled can get the wrong idea on pronunciation, and would also be glad to help with pronunciation.
What's that in beginning of story she holding. I'm quite unsure.
I'm assuming you're a William Powell fan since you did a video on him as well, so I don't understand how you could mispronounce Ziegfeld when he played him in two films.
I like these videos but there are a lot of common mispronunciations in them. Besides that these are really great videos!
I was really hoping to hear just how Olive came to take the poison and Jacks involvement ...were there any police reports on what exactly happened?
Hi-we are with you on that. Our original video did include that information. But RUclips didn’t think it was safe or appropriate for you to hear that information so they restricted the video and we had to upload another one without the sensitive content, unfortunately. You can find news reports from the time on Google
@HollywoodMysteries I understand and Thank you!
@@nancyelliott3653 There is a podcast I heard on this story and from what I remember it was thought she woke up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty and drank the mixture in error but even that was not a proven fact.
@@HollywoodMysteries RUclips needs to fucking stop with the censorship. Might I suggest, when something like that happening, summarizing it beneath the video in a pinned post?
@@noelletakesthesky3977 We share your frustration - unfortunately, even if we abide by the rules, as we try to, the video can still be hit by being partially hidden from our viewers if YT dislike certain words or themes. And this applies to thumbnail, title, comments even.
Such an interesting story--but when she met Ziegfeld I had to mute your narration. The name is pronounced ZIG-feld. It's a pretty famous name..if you were a Barbra fan you'd know 😉
We appreciate the feedback. This is our first ever video and we didn’t get everything 100% perfect this time but we hope you stick around to see the improvements!
You've done a wonderful job -- keep up the good work!
Go back to bed.
@@HollywoodMysteriesFound your channel last night, couldn’t sleep, subscribed after the first video, been bingeing your work. Excellent videos.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, MAKES A GOOD BEDTIME STORY TOO! .........📚
Good video, with the exception of the pronouncing of several words, are wrong & that was annoying.
Zeigfeld, Hedy Lamarr, Paulette Goddard, Irene Dunne, Virginia Rappe and mogul come to mind...
You obviously put in a lot of work into your content (Please take a half an hour to make sure you're pronouncing the names of the people you include before recording).
Don't pay mind to those annoyed by your mispronounced names.
There were several, actually, but who cares?
The story is the main point.
Keep up the good work. ❤
JACK PICKFORD HUSBAND
She doesn't look sixteen. Sorry!🫤
Good grief. Can the narrator be more depressing?
Oh no, I like the narrator who has a great voice. Different strokes…
The narrator’s voice is beautiful and relaxing. Besides, she is talking about serious subjects.
Sorry to disagree. Maybe a little inflection. Just my opinion.
Loved starting to sink into this story but the rain in the background was distracting. Your voice is soothing. The rain didn’t make sense to me.
The background noise is too loud.
Sorry your voice was sending me off to sleep. No emotion too drawn out
Be glad you got to go to sleep without paying for an app, or using drugs or alcohol .
The narrator’s voice is beautiful and relaxing.
She had weird wrists
The narrator's miss promotions are extremely off-putting. Please in the future have someone go over your scripts and learn the correct pronunciations. I have noticed this on many of your videos. Otherwise, I enjoy your content.
