Thanks Matt for this great review. Radioddity are sure bringing out some great radios at the moment :0) Keep up the good in updating us all, we really need RUclipsrs like yourself.
Hi John! I really like both the QT 60 and 80, the 80 has more features and 15m band is a great addition and the mod is easy and reverseable :) Thanks for watching :)
@@John_Ai9D You can also use the microphone buttons to navigate the VFO, which is a nice feature! Set the PF key to CH.PUSH for a really good experience. 73
Thanks for the review - I will be buying this as my first HF transceiver in a month or so. One small point - changing the jumper only enables the 15mtr band - switching between 10 mtr use and 10/11/12/(15) is a simple power-on button combination, so most will probably not even need to open the case!
Hi Matt, I've just ordered one of these. Did you say you have the UK 40 in a file some where I can down load and enter into the QT80? Any help in doing this please. Thanks Steve
hi, thanks for introducing the qt80 radio! My question: on the 15 meter band the power output on the qt80 is only 10-15 Watt (USB, LSB) on maximum power setting. On the other bands there is full performance on USB and LSB. Is this normal or does my device not seem to be working properly? It would be great if someone already has experience with the 15 meter band. thanks and greatings, vy 73, Gerhard OE6MFG
@@gerhardkreuzer3692 thanks for highlighting this. I haven't tried the power level on 15m but I'll try it and see when I can and update you. Can always drop a message to radioditty and see if they can help you clarify it. Thanks for watching 🔥
Sadly when you open it to switch the 15 and 12 meters your warranty goes away. Your radio is NOW out of warranty? I found out the warranty rule will not apply.
FYI: Long press the BAND button to enable the full VFO mode. Set the PF key to CH.PUSH and see how you like it 👍 I'm glad you like the user manual. It's pleasing to hear! 😊 Nice review. 73

Wow! Thank you very much for the kind comment :) I really apprecate it :)
Sold my QT60 because it was so limited. Now with 15 meters, I may buy this for installation into my suv.

@@m6cebI don’t like the clicky tuning to frequency of the QT60. I like smoother tuning. Still this radio looks great assuming it does well on 15.

Nice review Matt, I use a 90deg pl259 adapter on my CRT SS 9900 made it very easy to swap it in and out of the car. M7CVK Tony

Hi Matt
What's your take on Radioddity?
I'm looking to buy an LC90, and there have been some negative reviews about delivery issues, etc.

Does this QT80 / AT6666Pro come with talkback as the previous model did?
To be clear , the jumper mod will allow you to access american cb , or does it require additional programming ? Thanks
Matt is this radio available to buy here in the uk cheers from a fellow ham.

@@mostlypostie1 thanks very much for letting others know. Very much appreciated 😊❤️
You do not want to change the jumper in the US, as it is technically illegal, and could earn you a $25,000 fine if you cause harmful interference.
Is a HAM license required for this radio? I think it is.
Just 10 mtr ? Or, 10,11,12 &15?
Never mind
Sounds a great rig but no speech so if you can not see the screen you will not be able to use this radio 100% thank you very much
