Hydra (álbum de Within Temptation)
Hydra es el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda de metal sinfónico Within Temptation. El álbum contiene colaboraciones del cantante Howard Jones (antiguo miembro de Killswitch Engage), el rapero Xzibit, Tarja Turunen (ex-integrante de Nightwish) y el cantante de rock alternativo David Pirner (Soul Asylum). El primer sencillo "Paradise (What About Us?)", fue lanzado el 27 de septiembre de 2013 y contó con Turunen como vocalista invitado.1 El 20 de diciembre públican "Dangerous", y en él Jones fue el vocalista masculino invitado.2 "Hydra" es el primer álbum de la banda en el que se graba con tres guitarras con Stefan Helleblad haciendo su debut dentro del estudio.
El proceso de escritura del álbum comenzó en 2012 y en el primer semestre del año, la banda tenía seis canciones escritas. Hydra fue originalmente programado para ser lanzado en todo el mundo en septiembre, para su nuevo sello BMG y en los Países Bajos por Universal Music. El álbum una vez publicado alcanzó los primeros diez puestos en los países República Checa, Países Bajos, Finlandia, Austria, Alemania, Escocia, Suiza, Reino Unido y dos listas del Billboard de Estados Unidos. Para dar más promoción al álbum la banda comenzó el Hydra World Tour su primer concierto fue en el Heineken Music Hall, Ámsterdam.

I have seen Tarja live twice, both after she started her solo-career, and she's always beaming like the sun when she's performing, even if it's a small crowd. The pure joy that radiates from her as soon as she comes on stage is just so infectious you can't help but grin from ear to ear yourself.

This song still has huge enrgy and tempo after 10 years. The rhythm guitar and sound of it on album version is insane. Same here, on live version, insane sound and performance of whole band. Tarja was and still is the best live female singer ever. Period. There is noone elese who could sing live better than she, and constantly for a decades. I'm glad I was able to see her live in 2008 and 2012. Unfortunately, never saw WT live, however WT and Nightwish were my childhood. Sharon's voice is also magnificient. Beautiful ladies, they stopped aging, amazing performance both of them.

It's an amazing duet and a shame how long we had to wait for them to do create something together. I remeber when in the early 2000 WT and Nightwish were the two bands everyone into that kind of music listened to, and often fought over which one was the best.
