In this new video we will learn about 14 of the best intercontinental ballistic missiles, also known as ICBMs, currently in service with the main military powers on the planet. But there are also nuclear missiles launched from submarines, which are called SLBMs. An ICBM is considered to be a ballistic missile with a range of more than 5,500 kilometers.
To understand the destructive power of these missiles, we must go back to World War II, when 2 atomic bombs were detonated. The first bomb called “Little Boy” was detonated over the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, and its destructive power was 16 kilotons. And the second bomb, called “Fat Man,” was detonated in Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945, and its destructive power was 21 kilotons.
A megaton is the equivalent of 1,000 kilotons.
