The line began in 1981, most hit market in 82. Great video.
Thanks, I had them as a kid before the 1st wave of GI Joe. Then got the straight arm Joes for Christmas of that year of ‘82 along with the VAMP. I find a lot of similarities with the names and ideas in this first year.
@@toysbackzen Hasbro used a LOT of MEGO ingenuity to relaunch a real American hero. O-ring construction figures.....Mego Micronauts, Buck Rodgers, Star Trek Motion Picture figures, all done before ARAH, by mego. the Eagle Force characters certainly inspired a lot of the 82-86 JOES, not the size though, it is fun to acknowledge the designer who worked on Eagle Force went on to help create Kenner's M.A.S.K. line
I believe it was Paul Kirchner that helped design for Mego and later for Kenner.
@@toysbackzen That's right, and it's very cool that he worked on M.A.S.K. and he's even tipped back into Eagle Force Returns with Bill Murphy.
I wonder if you could remake these guys with the Maurader system, or design some 3-3/4 inch O ring figures...
The concepts are still solid, it's the size though. Secretly, I've always wanted to see these guys in 12 inch G.I. Joe size, or 8 inch, MEGO size.
3-3/4 0ring would be great. I think it would be pretty easy but using vintage Joe figs would have to be sacrificed.
