I've found that being called an expat is also a class difference vs being called an immigrant. If you're seen as having money you're getting called an ex-pat. If you're poor then you're seen as an immigrant.
I love these women! The financial advice is priceless. I'm a little bit more optimistic about the US. I lived in 5 European countries, which made me appreciate the US so much more. No one ever talks about that on RUclips. There’s such a gap in information where that is concerned. What services are available for kids, people with disabilities?
People crack me up telling BW especially that we should reside in Africa. Every European country I've been too does not treat African's favorable, BUT African's continue to migrate to those countries and talk about leaving one day, but few actually leave. We are not trying to build or work, American BW want and deserve to rest in our femininity. We're looking for rest and as much extravagance as we can afford.
So true I would love to see how independent women are making it in the motherland Africa. Europeans, chinese and Indians are thriving In Africa. What about Us sisters. I will be traveling to South Africa in January. I was in Nigeria last year and Uganda the beginning of this year. Of the 54 countries there must be 1 country where we as African American women can relocate and prosper. I just returned from a trip in Africa. They made it clear to me that they DO NOT see us as their sisters and brothers and that we need to stop that narrative. They see us as Americans AKA a walking pocketbook as Halisi said.

The Portuguese primarily acquired slaves for labor on Atlantic African island plantations, and later for plantations in Brazil and the Caribbean . . . like, I'm so confused as to how y'all feel so freekin comfortable over there???
I think she addressed that in the video. We can live wherever we please is the point, regardless of what the history of that place here, because it's better than remaining in the US. Like she said if she is happier there than here, why does the past matter. It doesn't excuse that past, because black folks still live in Mississippi and Alabama, right? Re expat/immigrant - IMO an expat leaves their country but only temporarily - they’re not coming to stay. Immigration is usually a permanent move. Diplomats and their spouses/kids, biz travelers who stay for 1-3 mos, those are expats. They’re not intending to immigrate and make a new home in the new country; they usually have return flights already booked from day 1, and usually continue to maintain a home in their country of origin. I called myself an expat when I was abroad because of the above reasons.
Polenta, corn meal and grits you should be able to find that there in Portugal because of the many African immigrants living there. My friend is Cape Verdean and she cooks with corn meal, many live in Portugal.
Listen I live in GA and can go 3 ways to these folks job and run into a confederate flag. I can be in the carpool picking up my teenager and be right behind a guns and Jesus bumper stickers. Soooo yeah imma be out of here and live where I wanna AWAY from HERE 😂👋🏾

Being black I never considered myself a patriot. Nor do I feel patriotic. it's us and them. A divide they created. So hearing expat is a bit activating (vs saying triggering) but I do get why expat is used.
Not very smart: expat does not come from ex-patriot, but from expatriate, meaning, a person who choose to live outside their native country. Expats are people who retain their nationality but choose to work and reside in another country for an extended period of time. An immigrant is someone who chooses another country with a prospect of acquiring its citizenship/nationality, and has no intention of going back to their native land. So, again, expat has nothing to do with the meaning of the word "patriotic"
I must tell you your Brazilian friend is wrong since Brazilians speak ancient terms we don't use anymore in Portugal, and they are the ones who kept the old terms ... even their names are written the old way, we write Morais and they still write Moraes... see what I mean? So, he is wrong.
The info is good. The video is too long. There needs to be an index or timing listing the various topics within. In general your videos are too long. I understand you’re making money from them, but many of us are working, and still on tight schedules while we’re trying to wade through this info that often has many rabbit trails…please edit after live sessions are over!

Great information and I really appreciate the 1st person knowledge and shared experience. Now Portugal would not be for me, being such a fabulous place because it was literally the poorest country in Europe and was the instigator of the rape of Africa, upon which its wealth was built. But I guess you could say that about all European nations and even the US. So, the question is what do we do now? So many people, black women in particular, don't want to go to Africa. Why should we help build some place up instead of living where it's already been done? Which actually to ne is kind of sad. But the question is can you live with why these places are "wonderful" and if so, I guess Portugal is as good as any a place to consider.
Maybe some of us already been through struggles building a country and lived struggle life where there are rolling black outs, dry faucets, storing water in buckets we don't want to live that life after working and achieving in the west. We can be friends to those countries by supporting projects but we seek easy living now. Easy breezy. It's nothing against developing countries.

Because that was HUNDREDS of years ago and USA is a modern day plantation. We’re moving based on what’s happening TODAY!

Being black I never considered myself a patriot. Nor do I feel patriotic. it's us and them. A divide they created. So hearing expat is a bit activating (vs saying triggering) but I do get why expat is used.

Not very smart: expat does not come from ex-patriot, but from expatriate, meaning, a person who choose to live outside their native country. Expats are people who retain their nationality but choose to work and reside in another country for an extended period of time. An immigrant is someone who chooses another country with a prospect of acquiring its citizenship/nationality, and has no intention of going back to their native land.
So, again, expat has nothing to do with the meaning of the word "patriotic"
I must tell you your Brazilian friend is wrong since Brazilians speak ancient terms we don't use anymore in Portugal, and they are the ones who kept the old terms ... even their names are written the old way, we write Morais and they still write Moraes... see what I mean? So, he is wrong.

The info is good. The video is too long. There needs to be an index or timing listing the various topics within. In general your videos are too long. I understand you’re making money from them, but many of us are working, and still on tight schedules while we’re trying to wade through this info that often has many rabbit trails…please edit after live sessions are over!

If the video is too long then it is not the video or channel for you. Find a video that fits your time constraints. Not everything is for everyone and it's okay.

Great information and I really appreciate the 1st person knowledge and shared experience. Now Portugal would not be for me, being such a fabulous place because it was literally the poorest country in Europe and was the instigator of the rape of Africa, upon which its wealth was built. But I guess you could say that about all European nations and even the US. So, the question is what do we do now? So many people, black women in particular, don't want to go to Africa. Why should we help build some place up instead of living where it's already been done? Which actually to ne is kind of sad. But the question is can you live with why these places are "wonderful" and if so, I guess Portugal is as good as any a place to consider.

Maybe some of us already been through struggles building a country and lived struggle life where there are rolling black outs, dry faucets, storing water in buckets we don't want to live that life after working and achieving in the west. We can be friends to those countries by supporting projects but we seek easy living now. Easy breezy. It's nothing against developing countries.
