I think it’s pretty ridiculous to expect an actor to actually be like their characters, for better or worse. I know she takes some material from her own experiences, but that’s different than them being the same person.

That roller skating story is still hilarious. Her costume, the hair, how the proportioned her size against the rest of the set to make her look young, her mom catching her with the poster on herself, even the whimsical music in the background.
The Tom Jones roller skates story is a piece of writing genius. I defy anyone to point to a pre-existing joke or story that could have inspired Tina to write it. The woman's creativity is staggering.
