What an intriguing synth. I found the patch from around 8:30 particularly appealing. There is a lot of depth in there. I like your approach to composition.
The first one melts my brain. Such a beautiful texture. I think I need to get myself a clouds. How playable are these tiny knobs? Should I go for this one or the slightly larger Typhoon (with faders)?

Did you make the little case that's holding the module? Ifnot where did you get it? I've little interest in going full on into euro rack but I've always liked the sound of the clouds module. However cases just seem to be so expensive which makes buying a small one for one module a couple of LFOs really expensive.
The case is a Pittsburgh Cell 48. I can understand that, but it's a great investment for opening up the huge range of modular and it's sonic possibilities. Check out the powered 4MS Pod cases if you just want Clouds and an LFO or two.
Hello, I've really like it! And want to know to many I must to buy at least to working with clouds as audio fx processor as you did? Or it already in use case with modules as they are? Thank you.
Hi. I'm new to modular so please, one little question: as i can see, you send signal from volca via headphone jack using mono cable. So, is it possible to send signal from regular phone headphone jack without any amplification (of course using mono cable)? Thanks.)
I believe you would need an amplifier type module to get it to modular levels - Mutable Instruments Ears and Bastl Hendrikson are two fairly inexpensive examples
From my experience, headphone jack levels are way too low for modular where signals generally go +-5V. That is also worth thinking about when plugging it into a speaker, that you'll have to attenuate it first.
I want to set up a really small euro rack setup just for effects to use with my volca modular any suggestions on cases and modules that would work well
Don't get a small case unless you just want a small number of effects. Effect modules are quite HP hungry. Also you might want some LFOs or a MN Maths to modulate your effects. There aren't many different multi effect modules on the market. Flame FX16-CV is a multi effect, there's also the Tiptop Audio Z5000. The ES Disting has effects and is only 4 HP. There are of course lots of different filters in Eurorack.
It's worth getting an account on modulargrid.net. I looked through their for-sale and found someone who seems to know what he's doing. You'll want to concentrate on people who've built Eurorack modules that are surface mount. They are a little trickier to build. You can also find builders on Gearslutz.com and muffwigglers.com (more forums). Do your research. I know modulargrid.net has a forum post dedicated to transaction feedback. I've also found groups on Facebook that are all about the micro format of DIY modules. Lastly there IS eBay. But with eBay make sure the person auctioning off the module makes it a habit of selling custom or assembled DIY modules. You don't want to buy someone's first-time attempt at soldering.
ertekox sound you should check out @mrseri on Instagram. He makes 8HP versions of a lot of modules in black and gold. I’ve got a few of them and they’re all amazing builds, reasonable priced and attractive too boot!
is the input level different from the original clouds? I don't think the original would takes line levels without preamplification... btw awesome videos, thank you for posting all this good stuff !
The original can process line levels, this is coming straight from the mans mouth: Pichenettes: Q: you’ll probably need an extra module to match Eurorack audio levels (at least for input, output only if your destination distorts too easily); A: Clouds’ pre-amp can process line levels. Thank you.
Great video! It's amazing what can be achieved with just a few simple modules.
Thank you.
This is gorgeous
Some great sounds in this, nice one.
Thank you very much.
An awesome demonstration! Love it!
Thank you very much.
lovely sound!
Thank you.

That last sound was a bit creepy, like it.
Thanks, creepy is good.
beau travail _ bravo
Merci, I'm glad you think so
This is awesome
Thank you.
lovely stuff! 6:40 is what I'm after.... ;) thanks!
Thanks for listening.

That sounds like a familiar process, thanks for sharing. I hope you like the module.
very inspiring, as usual.
Thank you, glad to hear that.
Hi really interested in this sort of thing. I am about to purchase my first module and looking at what to get. Nice little rig there.
Thank you.
Also is parasite better than how clouds comes in the box
What’s the module in the middle? That looks cool
Nice
Thanks
What is the brand for the cable that came out from the uclouds? looks very nice..and a very good demo!
Thanks. Van Damme cable/Neutrik connectors.

How come RUclips is full of crappy musicians showing off gear and incredibly good ones like you?! Lol
Haha, thanks.

The clouds software can be used in a DAW with VCV rack, a free virtual modular app.

Hi, it's a stereo to mono cable, so it'll probably work from a phone headphone jack too.
@@DreamsOfWires can you show me that cable? I never see cables like this.)

So have you ended up with like a 30U system at this point :) ?
What should I buy to power the UClouds?
I believe I have the 12hp
if anyone knows where to find those slim dotted knobs, i'd love to source some!
Googling “befaco knobs” should provide many options. Thonk, modularaddict, errorinstruments, and, of course, befaco themselves all sell some.
What’s the difference between uclouds and the cloud bigger one?
No difference functionally, apart from the firmware you install on it and the size of the module and layout of controls.
Perfect thank you
You're welcome.
Where can I buy this? I already have the amazing Volca keys
I got mine on eBay, but there's a bunch of different versions, as most come as DIY kits I think.
Thanks! I just bought the original bigger clouds. Super stoked
That's great, I hope you have fun with it.
i can recognise only a couple of modules in that case, whats in it?
all the way left is the expert sleepers distig
lovely... specially the first and final sounds... but, where i could buy this version of clouds?
Thank you. I got it on eBay.
where you can buy already assembled that cloud I can not find it on the net
I got it on eBay.

Useful info for me too, thank you.
Check out Michigan Synth Works. They call theirs uBurst

Tha Drones The original Clouds is fine with line level. It has enough input gain to boost the signal.
