    Some surprising games there, glad to see it wasn't just the usual suspect :D

      Nice!
      Thanks for the support man. Besides the heavy hitters, any one you haven't played?

      @@Dariothehungry most of them, never owned a PS1. Just have played like symphony of the night with an emulator. Medal of honor seems interesting though because I love old shooters.

      Play Aliens Resurrection, it has modern controls and got blasted for it back then

    Honestly haven’t played tons of Ps1, so I’ll be referring back, good stuff

      Heck yeah man, there's a ridiculous amount of games from passable to excellent too so hit me up if you want any recommendations.

      Def like MGS and Castlevania. I never played the original Medal of Honor games. Did play Frontlines, but I absolutely love the first Call of Duty.

      @Dariothehungry  6 дней назад

      @KevPez-IS Frontlines was decent, I really enjoyed it back then, but I could tell something was off, and yeah, its because the team left after Underground and worked on the Call of Duty, also Stephen Spielburg was no longer involved.
      At least... I think so, I'll be doing a few deep dives to refresh my memory lol.

    Awesome list, hadn't even heard of a few of them. Very cool to see Xenogears at the top spot. I haven't played it yet, myself, but I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I've been meaning to go back and play the originals.

      @@Dariothehungry Thanks so much, man! I appreciate that! And I loved flawed games. They're often more interesting than (near)"perfect" games to me.

    Man this vid brought back a ton of great memories from that era!
    I only ever played the demo for Game 8 but really enjoyed it, and for some reason, I never got around to trying the full version. I had no idea that TITus was involved with it! Like you said, they should've stuck with workin on games like that, haha!
    As far as I'm concerned, Game 6 is the pinnacle of that series of spin-offs. It was all downhill after that, which is a shame because the animated cutscenes and overall high level of polish really added to it. Yes, the voice acting might be a bit cheesy by today's standards, but for the time, it was great. Also, it had a fantastic soundtrack that I still listen to today!
    As I mentioned in your stream the other day, Game 4 has some of the best sound design in any game ever. Everything just fits the theme they were going for. You know, I kind of prefer the rough look of the original PS1 version over the super clean remake for the GameCube.
    I'm with you on the jadedness with the lack of Switch port for Game 2. I mean Konami loves makin money by doin the least amount of work possible so why no port!?
    So, I had a feeling about what Game 1 was going to be, and I'm very pleased with what I saw, haha. Though part of me was half expecting you to troll the audience and bust out Bubsy 3D. I'm going to play Game 1 one of these days, man. Not sure if I should bite the bullet and emulate it or just wait for a legit remaster, but yeah, I'm a big fan of what those two come up with.
    This was a great and varied list, Dario! Always love when you do these big Top 10 deep dives!

      Demos rocked back then. I miss Demo compilations and Demo VHS/DVD show offs.
      I remember when I finally got my hands on a PS1, I played the absolute crap out of the Packages Demo disk.
      I agree, many hate on the PS1 looks and I mean, there is some ugly stuff but there's also alot of charm too! But I agree of what you are saying for the remakes.
      Everything's play Panzer Dragoon? An example I prefer the Saturn Version over the Switch Remake.
      I think I asked this already but did you ever play Xenosaga Episode 1-3?
      As usual thansk for watching man, means alot.

    • @TheTrueandHonest
      @TheTrueandHonest 7 дней назад +1

      @@Dariothehungry I did not play Xenosaga 1-3 but I am aware of them and in that recent Monolithsoft 25 year anniversary vid KOSMOS was shown off at the end alongside Elma from Xeno X and we did just get that Xenoblade X remaster announcement so who knows man maybe a Xenosaga "Complete" remaster is in the works as well.
      Yep my good buddy Brad is a huge Sega fanboy and marked out for the Saturn when we were kids so I got to play some Panzer Dragoon here and there and I do get what you're referring to when it comes to the look of the OG game compared to the remake for Switch. Everytime you gain somethin you sorta lose somethin eh?
      Those PS1/PC Gamer demo disks greatly broadened my horizons when it came to gaming back in the 90s haha! Def miss those days!

      Xenosaga is worth it, fantastic, but it does have it's ups and downs. Like, I still like the game, but Saga 2 has its drawn out slots, but the trilogy is so damn epic and good.
      Yeah I agree about the gain lose with remakes. some are so damn good though that they can replace the original, like REmake? Oh man. But, I can still get down with the OG ha ha ha

    • @TheTrueandHonest
      @TheTrueandHonest 7 дней назад +1

      @@Dariothehungry Yep, REmake is definitely where it's at, but oddly enough, if I had to speedrun either REmake or the original, I'd go with the original. There's less filler, and the pacing is much tighter for speedrunning. Don't get me wrong-I love the additional bits they added to REmake!
      That bein said I still prefer the OG RE2 on the N64/PS1 over the remake of RE2...dunno why man but the OG version just feels timeless to me, haha!
