When I got my first street bike at 16 years old. I learned about the RC51 and decided that, that would be my dream bike. 5 years later I finally was able to buy one. They're awesome bikes with a die hard committed community. As a fellow owner, there are some things you should do ASAP. 1. Put locktight on the rear seat latch bolt. Because of the vibration of the bike, over time it loosens the bolt that holds the latch for the rear seat. Many owners have lost their seat cover or rear seat because of it. 2. This bike has heating issues. This bike runs extremely hot because of its design, but also Honda made the radiator fans active extremely late whenever the bike is already overheating. The fans don't kick on until 215° . Get yourself a manual plug and play fan switch button so you can manually turn the fans on before the bike starts getting too hot.
The “pusher” SPAL fans are a huge improvement! Nobody knows actual production numbers of the 2004 bikes (which were all Nicky Hayden style). But it’s probably way more than 1400.
CRAZY!!!! I got the 25th anniversary xb12R. I wanted the white and blue or yours. But here is what’s awesome, I too always wanted the rc51. Never had a chance to ride one though. I shopped around and couldn’t afford a decent one. Plan b was the xb12R and I’m loving it. I’ve had a good amount of bikes but I love the buell. Please do a comparison of the 2. In depth if possible. I wonder if you think the Honda black bird is interesting like I do. You have great taste. I think buell and the rc51 had number 69!
Yah the rc51 blows the buell away I won’t lie but I’ll definitely do a comparison. Also I’ve been trying to buy a blackbird on and off lately I like them and would love to ride one. After this bike I’ve gotta wait a little before getting one maybe next year.
@@navscycles interesting bikes are so fun. I’ve always been a vtwin guy. A TL1000R wouldn’t hurt either. but I have a few 4cyl on my radar for collecting. 90s 4cyl bikes like the zx7 and the fire blade to name a couple. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m enjoying it because you have same taste! We are not alone lol 🤜 🤛
Have you ever test rode a late model Yamaha R1 or any other liter bikes? I know some of the modern features on those are pretty mind blowing. Your new bike is cool nonetheless
Yah that’s a long time of seriously looking with cash in hand ready to buy. And in those 7 months or so I was looking everyday for one so I mean it’s a long time
Congratulations on the bike. I'm getting one as well on 10-11-2024 with 25,000 miles on it.

I have an original seat for this one. It's dinged up from some hail, but if you're ok with recovering it I don't need it anymore.
Send me an email let’s talk I’d probably be ok with that.
