There are some major reasons why I decided to shift from lipo batteries to the Lithium Ion batteries for powering up my quadcopter Racing Drone. I will also talk about the mistakes which are made by almost every beginner, for example, you make a battery but not able to charge it or you make a 3S or 4S lithium Ion Battery pack, but you are not able to fly your Drone with it, you just increase the throttle and the flight controller is restarted, I have seen a lot of guys facing the same issue, so I will practically show you how to fix this issue. I will also explain step by step the complete process of making a 4S Lithium Ion Battery Pack using these Samsung 3.7V 21700 4000mAh 40T Lithium Ion Batteries and then I will practically share with you the test results and the flight time. So, it doesn’t matter whether you want to use 18650 lithium ion batteries or the 21700 lithium Ion batteries, the techniques and connections will remain exactly the same. Thank you so much, Great video! I've been looking for weeks for a video like this one. I have noticed LiION batteries are much lighter and less dangerous than the LiPo batteries and battery packs.
And quite durable, I am still using this battery pack 8m different projects.
Also way cheaper and easier to handle. Amazing video, too.

That was great...i am also going to upgrade my drone batteries with lithium ion...because lipo batteries are soo dangerous and need a lot of care...also lipo batteries are lot more expensive as compared to lithium ion
since then i am using this battery and its working great. I am not only using this with my drones but also for powering up my controller based projects.
@Satyajit li-po has much higher discharge rates. It will give more power for a short time. Li-ion and li-po are made for different purposes.

I am using this battery 3s 1p with 30A hornet esc and 920 dji motor with apm board my it give me 4/5 m flight time !

You won’t find many 18650’s that reliably do 30A without a temp cutoff. There are maybe 4 cells and they will not have anywhere close to peak capacity for that size (3500/3600mah)
The 21700’s are only 20 grams heavier (45-50 vs 65-70) and there are at least 10 cells capable of 30A and most of them will give you 4000mah.
The best cell (that you can currently get) is the Molicel P42A. It’s big brother the P45B might be available to us in the next 6 to 12 months. Samsung 40T is a very close second and the Lishen 2170LA is pretty much a well done Chinese knock off. I believe BAK has a knockoff too. You’ll get 4000mah+ and 35A-40A with the 21700’s. If you can get your hands on the Samsung 50S and you don’t need 30A it might work for you at 15A continuously

Check the discharge current rate of the cells, then even with 4s pack it will give more punch.
Don't use nickle strip use copper strip or thic copper wire for high ampere rating .

You are right, these are heavier, but the weight won't be an issue if we use these batteries packs with larger quad frames. Seriously, right now, I am only thinking about more flight time. Previously, I was only getting 5 to 6 minutes of flight time and I wasn't able to improve my piloting skills.

Why don’t you use 2s2p? Will it get a larger capacity (longer range) than ur 4s?
will be underpowered, as the props can not spin at more than 50%, might be 3s2p, but not sure if the weight will cross the curve for efficience, and also fiting that battery might be difficult while keeping the correct CG (unless you build i tall, and that might also tip the balance)

its a little heavier than than lipo but its fast. so you wont feel much difference.

You can purchase any other brand, just check the current discharge rate, it should be above 30A. The greater the better.

no, you cant, check the cells discharge current rating, i have talked about it in the video. watch full video wothout skipping.

ya of course it will work. I have been using this battery pack for almost anything.
If you use these cells then i think you don't need to go for 2P, Only 4 cells are going to be enough for you. with 4 brushless motor it gives me more than 25 minutes of flight time. In your case its gonna work just great.

Of course you can use. You can purchase any lithium ion batteries with current discharge rate greater than 30A. Check your ESC specs.

In the video, there are videos of making a pack with 4 lithium-ion 18650 batteries and flying it with an FPV long range.
With excitement, I ordered batteries and made a pack.
LGDBHG21865 3000mA.
The problem is... When I hovered, the yaw tick symptom reappeared after it came up, and, after a few seconds, the low-voltage buzzer sounded and the aircraft sank.
If I open it again, it opens again,,,,, repeat...
So, I changed the low voltage warning in Beta Flight to 2.7V, and when I turned it on, there was no sound.
If I take a break for a while, it will float again. But it sinks again... The battery is hot, and the voltage is 3.8V... TT
I bought 40 tablets... but I can't use them all?
How do people use? Batteries were also made by buying anything.
Is my FC the problem? Or is there a special setting for Li-ion?
FC is IFlight SucceX Mini F4 V3 Stack, and the manual says 2~6 Lipol. Do I have to use only Lipol? Can I change FC?

18650 batteries wont work if the current discharge rate is low. I have talked about it in the video. I was also facing the same issues and thats why i selected these samsung batteries, these batteries have discharge current rate around 35A.
