Queen Mary 2 is absolutely stunning. It's equipped with all modern cutting edge technology while maintaining the spirit of the old ocean liners. It's something that people from the early 1900s would imagine if they had to describe a futuristic ocean liner. Once she docks for the last time (hopefully many years into the future) she needs to be maintained for future generations. She is a complete marble.
The Masters have spoken. Queen Mary 2 has been given the highest marks and praise. She looks beautiful. I'm glad to see she has risen once again to her rightful place in maritime service.

I think it is so cool that British people still pride them selves on the maritime history. The fact that you can do something like this still is so amazing to me. The ship perfectly blend that rich ocean liner history with modern technology and amenities. I’m going to do this for sure!

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled on all the other Cunard Queens and love them all ( especially the Queen Elizabeth) ! But ••• the Fabulous Queen Mary 2 will always be my ultimate favourite!! So elegant and majestic . I guess it’s partly because she is a true ocean liner and a transatlantic voyage is my favourite voyage of all !! There’s nothing quite like it!! Cunard line is the ultimate way to travel. Great video! I'm delighted that they've renewed the broken seats in Illuminations. It meant that only a few seats were really available for the wonderful Planetarium experiences. We commented on them in our 2019 and 2022 feedback. Very excited about embarking QM2 in New York in 11 days.

I just arrived in New York after the first transatlantic post refit, and it was quite fun to watch this video. The new furnishings and carpets really look splendid, but one of the things I really appreciated was the fresh paint on the balconies and public decks. The Veranda restaurant is now up to $50 at night, and the meal was good, but not great. The spa pool was not open until the last two days, and was offered at an eye-watering rate of around $70 (could have been per day or for the last two days - not sure, but expensive regardless). Either way, spa prices were exorbitant. In reality, it was a fabulous experience. The seas were quite rough, and I felt pampered and secure on the once again beautiful QM2.
I was on the same trip.
Britannia restaurant service was impeccable ( as with ALL staff) food was average at best.
The crossing was sometimes rough but she handled it well.
It did feel somewhat like being onboard a floating retirement home.
I am glad we did it(we enjoyed the literary festival) but I doubt that I would do it again.
I was on the same voyage and enjoyed my time except I was sea sick on the second day.
I did my bucket list crossing on her, arrived in NY on Dec 22, and have decided to do the Christmas Caribbean trip in 2025. Watching this made me realize that there is much I did not do, such as the shows & eating in the steakhouse. I was a little surprised that there were so many kids on board, and that the pool area was a bit noisy (I guess I thought the QM2 was primarily for adults).
I was 3rd officer on her for a few crossings and she outstrips every ship ive been on since. The only that comes close is Christina O which is about 60 yrs older than QM2.
For this type of content, an excellent choice of calm, non-intrusive, non-cheesy music background! Other RUclipsrs take note!
I really must sail on Mary again soon.
Finally because she looked tired in every video I’d seen but then there’s been pandemic and nobody spending. I shall look at booking now. Thanks chaps.

Thank you so much for posting this, I was excited to see what changes have been made to ship. I had anxiety about any changes that might not quite fit, but this video put to rest any of that worry. Has there been any changes to the stateroom cabins? I know some folks have wondered if the electrical outlets might have been upgraded to include USB charge ports, any word on that?

Looks like she has spruced up the old girl fabulously. No massive changes just making her look million dollars.
Especially liked the aft pools, new tiling was desperately needed and now looks great, the new electronic wall in the theatre will make a massive difference.

I believe I read somewhere, perhaps saw a photo, that the sofa's were updated. Not sure about anything else in the suite.

We were on that 3 nighter. Gorgeous ship but service was shocking in general around the bulk of the shift
Thanks for watching! We did hear quite a few complaints about service. It was great for us in Queens Grill, but can’t speak for the rest of the ship! Hope you made the best of it :)
@@sailawaymag it was still a good experience. The thermal spa was cancelled with a letter through the cabin door 5 minutes before we set off for it. Still waiting on refund!

Great video - thank you, a nice surprise as we are on QM2 June 24 and didn't know this was happening. Just a quick question - do you know if they've done anything to the grill suites? mainly those horrid shower curtains!!

It is looking a lot better now. During the 2023 World Cruise the seating looked rather badly stained in the Corinthia Lounge and Commodore Club.

Great informative video, just one correction, Britannia Restaurant open to all guests.
Plus I would add Cunards White Gloved Afternoon Tea is served in the Queens Room.
Yes the Britannia restaurant is open to all guests, but it’s specifically for Britannia-class and Britannia Club! It would make no sense for Grills guest to dine in Britannia when they have access to superior dining in their own exclusive restaurants. Also, we stated that Queens Room is home to afternoon tea :) thanks for watching!
@@sailawaymag On out first TA in 2017, our table mates in Britannia had been upgraded from their usual inside room to a Q6 - but decided to dine in Britannia

Hi - disagree, we have been Princess Grill but ate in Britannia MDR - found the ambience much better, i am sure we not the only ones.

Did they get rid of the shower curtains?
We built our own house, completed a year ago, and chose a (narrow - 32 or so inches) shower curtain for the entrance over a glass door for our huge shower stall (about 6.5' x 4' overall). Curtain is one less thing to clean (as much). Any glass in/near a shower always needs wiping, cleaning, and water spot removal almost every single day. No thank you! Curtain works great.

Best ship on the oceans
Stayed on this ship a couple of years after it was launched. So still fairly new but found it to be even then tatty and boring. Wouldn't go on it again.
