Not sure which restaurants you visited that close at six. The shops do, that is correct. But restaurants go back open for dinner (if they close in the afternoon). Luckily the three main food groups in Belgium are not chocolate, beer & waffles :-) Those are just treats... Shame you missed out on a great dinner!
