If my child died while under the care of my parent, I would never entrust another child in that parent's care again. This is so tragic.
I have to agree. Even if it was an accident, I could never trust them again to watch a child. You don't babysit if you're taking sleeping pills when a child needs to be watched 24/7. Grandfather left the house while she was napping with the first death. If you know there's a kid in your house and the babysitter is asleep, why leave the house? It takes a village. Maybe there's dementia going on and no one is addressing it. Should the daughter ever leave a third child in their care and anything happens, you cannot convince me this is coincidence.
Exactly, she was not fit to be babysitting
My exact sentiment!
@@laughinghawk8522right it does not make sense!
@@ninarobertssalveson6326 it would be best for all involved if she never babysat again and the grandmother should be the first to agree with that

Do make any sense 😢

He's a POS ! He knows his wife is suffering from dementia and he didn't give AF and neither did the daughter! If he was a REAL man and not an abusive F he would take responsibility

I don't understand why the baby was in her care after the first child died due to grandmas negligence!😮😮😮
Because the daughter needed 'me' time at the drop of a hat!
The jury won’t hear about this though
Maybe the fact the DA told the parents that under Florida law the child’s death wasn’t a crime swayed mom. Personally nothing would have persuaded me to leave one of m precious children in the care of someone so clearly negligent. Neither grandparent seems to accept that grandmother has any responsibility for the deaths. I really can’t get my head around it.

The daughter insisted she always took the baby to work then took her home before lunch time to nap in her own crib at home. She then said it was unusual for her to be asking her mother to look after Uriel in the afternoon? Grandpa just took the stand and said either he or his wife picked up the child 3-5 times a week and took her to their house for the afternoon? That’s a complete contradiction.
I noticed that too. Would like to know the truth.
I thought so as well. But Grandpa was always there at home from what I understand.
Seemed like Mom lied on the stand. She never mentioned that her parents watched the baby 2-5 times a week.
Mom needs to take responsibility for her decisions. It seems like many young parents expect their parents to give up their golden years . we took care of our kids ! They should take of their kids. Visits with grandkids then off they go to mom and dad.

The mother said she only asked Grandma on that day because she had a hair appointment. So, why didn’t she retrieve her child after the hair appointment? Instead, she went home and let Grandma take care of her baby the rest of the afternoon. There’s a pattern there. Grandpa exposed that pattern.
Agree!!! After a 75 minute hair appointment, I personally would rush to pick up my baby.
Exactly, grandpa stated he or Tracy picked the baby up several days a week to take back to their house till the husband picked her up after 5pm. The mother made out she took her own baby home every day in time for a nap in her own crib and asking the grandmother to come get her from the office was almost a one off? She also said the hairdresser was super close to the restaurant so she’d be close by. If that was the case, why didn’t she pick the baby up from the restaurant or have Tracy bring the baby to the hairdresser if she was done with lunch before the hair appt was finished so she could take her own baby home?
Tracy said in the interview with police that the week prior she watched baby 4x that week. Truly devastating.
Right 😮
I'm just catching up on this case and pardon my ignorance for details but did I not hear the Mom say she rarely asked her Mom to look after the kids that she always had them with her. That she usually took them with her to her appointments - yet her father just said they baby was with her 3-5 days a week?? Something definitely off with this whole situation.
This whole family is weird. Why did the daughter allow her mother to baby sit the second child after what happened to the first child that died under granny’s care?! Grandad seems a bit odd, too. And the gum smacking sister shows up like a defiant high school kid for detention. Very strange dysfunctional brood. Wouldn’t want any of ‘em for neighbors.⚠️
Has to be investigated
She stated that she wanted to give her Mom another chance. 🤷🏼♀️💔
@emilymurcar6388 Weird. You'd give her a second chance cooking dinner not caring for your child.🤔
@@aussiemouth747 Well said!
This is a very weird case and I'm blaming everyone.
As a first-time grandmother, safety concerns have always been a source of apprehension for me. To address these concerns, I have adopted several precautionary measures. My Subaru is fitted with a backseat passenger alarm that remains active until the rear door is opened. Moreover, our lakefront residence features a comprehensive safety system, including alarms, child locks, and water immersion sensors that trigger a loud alarm audible throughout the neighborhood in the event of an emergency.
This is the second grandchild that has died due to her neglect 💯Guilty !
I like your style. Very smart. Every parent should have this too (speaking as a parent of babies myself).
Wait..what? This is the 2nd child that died in her car? What?
@@joyceperciballi295No not in the car, the other child found a way out of the house while grandma was sleeping and drowned.
@Pudef9 wow
My parents became first time grandparents at ages 67. They did the same thing and ensured their home was safe.
Also, they took care of the twin boys (yes twin boys) during short periods as both had some health issues that would have prevented them from taking care of them over long periods as toddlers.
Once the boys got older like 5, they made sure everything was safe, including when Grandma made yummy baked goodies they loved.
I just don’t understand why the grandfather didn’t enquire about where their granddaughter was once the grandmother came home?
My father would have at least said to my Mother “Oh so did you drop the boys off ?”
Another thing: with the first grandson drowning, which happened less than a year previous (if you can believe that!) why did the grandmother get in her car and drive around? Perhaps it was to get a better look at the pond behind their house?
If a drowning happened the year previous, any grandmother would take extra precautions to make sure the child was safe.
My heart literally breaks for the parents, especially the Mom. She’s lost her Mother and potentially Father in this as well.
It’s just horrible!

I don't know eveything about this case but my big question is how much time the grandparents were expected to babysit their grandchildren.....The mom says she took her kids to work most days and the grandparents are saying they minded different grandchildren A LOT. People need to not put so much pressure on grandparents to be free childcare. They get confused and it happens a lot.
Hey I'm a grandparent of 3 and I watch any and everytime when asked...thats what I'm here for
The grandparents could have said no

I am a grand grandmother and great grandmother, I have had many babies in my car and one point in time I had forgotten a grandbaby in the back of my car. It wasn’t hot nor was it cold and it wasn’t but for a few minutes, but I did forget people, our agehave memory lapses has nothing to do with how much you love that child has to do with a memory lapse, I’m not excusing her. It doesn’t matter if they couldn’t see the baby’s carseat. You NEVER make the child your second thought! That baby should ALWAYS remain your FIRST Priority! No matter what! How does a grandma forget she has her grandbaby in her care?
It matters, but it isn't in their favor because it should have been on the other side where she was easier to see. It was a thoughtless choice to put the seat there.
This is why I think tinted windows are so bad. Wish they showed a pic of where the car was parked. This trial is so half-assed. The times of major incidents seem to be excluded as well.
@@krisniznik3953Agreed, and I never heard WHO installed it there.
I hear your point, but have seen multiple psychologists testify in other car death cases that regardless of age, when routine is disrupted, and there are multiple distractions, our minds can do that. I see that she prays every day. All of these Bible studies are not worth anything if you cannot take responsibility for the deaths of the two of your own grandkids. Unbelievable!
Both grandparents are so detached.....it gives me sheevers.
Putting grandma in jail for forgetting she had her granddaughter isn't going to serve any purpose. The baby isn't coming back, and grandma's natural age-progression cognitive forgetfulness won't get any better behind bars.
I think there’s something weird about the mother. Even if you thought it was an accident with your first child who would leave the next child with the grandmother again? If the grandmother was negligent how is the mother not negligent for doing that? Wouldn’t a reasonable person not leave your child alone with the person responsible for the death of your first child? Also in an interview both the mother and father said they didn’t trust the grandmother; then why leave your child with her again? This wasn’t an emergency. It was a hair appointment and in her testimony the mother said she always took her kids with her to appointments usually. So why not take the child that day? She made it sound like the grandmother hardly ever watched her daughter and the grandmother said she watched her on a weekly basis. There’s something very strange here.

That’s what I don’t get. She could have avoided going to trial for manslaughter if she just plead guilty to the first charge. The mother stated all she wanted was accountability. Also, 4 hours leaving the child in a hot car. How did she forget if this was a routine to watch the child. I’m honestly more inclined to believe that the this was not a routine thing.
Question: why can’t the jury know about the prior death with the other grandchild? Seems significant enough.
Because she was found not guilty
@@cg9616 I thought she was never charged at all in the first incident?

They didn’t lose their first born son. He is around 5 now & lives at home. The grandma was negligent in their 16 month old grandsons death & then URI’s death & now the parents have gone on & have another daughter. So they have their 5 year old & the baby girl now.

I personally think that the parents seem odd. The grandparents seem odd. The truth of the first death was the grandfather fault. Grandma took medicine that makes her drowsy. Grandpa was home at the time grandma decide to go lay down. Grandma fell asleep. Grandpa decided to leave and left his grandson unattended. Why are we only blaming grandma? Why is grandpa calling his grand daughter…”the child”. I don’t understand the distancing.
He stated in the incident report she was awake. She was the one who originally said she was asleep. She later said she fell asleep at some point after he left.

I have heard that whomever is driving the child, anytime there is a carseat in the back seat that the driver should take off one of their shoes and put it near the car seat. When they get out of the car they will notice one shoe is missing and they will remember it is in the back with the baby. Especially if one parent normally drives the child to daycare and the other parent for some reason does it instead. They are out of their normal routine and sometimes forget the babies. Not an excuse but just what i've read about it all. I am surprised that there aren't apps or alarms that manufacturers haven't discovered to alert the driver that there is a baby in the back or a pet.

Parents need to raise their own kids, not rely on grandparents!
So if the parents have to work for a living they still need to rely on some sort of childcare. Most people would prefer their children be with a family member rather then a stranger at a daycare. Obviously this situation is a bit different given the first child's death.

He didn’t know because it was last minute.
I wonder how they’re kids made it to grow up and not be unalived with them as parents 🤦🏽♀️
There is something not right with Grandma. Lawyer advises her not to testify. Probably because it would prove she’s incompetent.
I would think that the dad (grandpa) would have been more culpable in the drowning death of baby Ezra since he knew his wife was taking a nap and he knew the baby was in their care and he chose to leave and do errands!?!?!?
Im wondering if the grandmother liked the 'idea' of Grandkids, but the moment she had to put any effort into their care - it was too much. Mom should have denied her unsupervised contact after the first death.
This guy should be charged with premeditated, first degree intentional felony lying.
What??
Obviously you remember Yuri but the grandma sure didn’t 😢
During the work week, I cared for all 3 of my grandkids from age 3 months to time they started Pre-K, while their parents worked. Not once did I ever forget they were in their car seats after taking them to the parks or elsewhere. They were the first thing on my mind, taking them out of my car! How in God's name could you forget a child for hours or even minutes! After the first child's death, why did they allow the grandmother to care for the other child that also died in her care!🙄
I’m sure you did a fine job raising your grandchildren, but that is such a shame that your child and their spouse would just drop off their kid to you all day long so that they could work. How incredibly selfish they are. And shame on you for not speaking up.
Nappy bags, bottles, wipes, extra clothes, blankets, toys and so it goes on… a grandmother’s role is to enjoy her grandchildren and then to ‘give them back’! Why is it a given that grandparents are substitutes and free childcares? This grandmother, who deserved to live the rest of her life without the huge responsibility of caring for small children, is now doomed to suffer.
And the daughter ‘forgave’ her eventually after the last child died. Why would you ever give another child to your mother to care for? Clearly she was not up to the task. THAT is unforgivable.
As a Grandmother, to me, 'suffering' would be to NOT have regular contact with my Grandchild. Some of us LOVE our Grandbabies and love our time with them.
A baby should be top priority to parents. You just have to give up on some things until they are older. But it isn't like this anymore.
I know the car seat was installed that day, but I never heard it asked, WHO installed it. Why was it put behind the driver’s seat instead of the passenger seat, which would have been proper protocol to be able to see it in rearview mirror??!!
This has nothing to do with "forgetfulness" and everything to do with stupidity.
This couple of the deceased baby is a very strong couple to endure both deaths of their children due to the grandma. I pray they stay strong. My hearts breaks for them but they warm my heart with their true true love they have for each other. Absolutely beautiful.
Why did they risk a second child's life?
@patriciagriswold6060 I assume she was giving her mom the benefit of doubt the first time. Apparently the authorities told her it was a accident so she believed that. I guess she didn't think her mom was a killer. I am wondering though if her mom didn't have a extreme jealousy problem and that's why the "accidents" kept happening. From what I gathered at the news conference of the deceased babies mom, she is going to have them relook into her sons death. Idk it's horrible and I couldn't imagine being them.
Wow you people are monsters. This family is destroyed and your knives are out. Self righteous wicked people! She was a grandma with early onset dementia and they were ignoring it. All of them.
Yes, memory loss, onset dementia. Was she checked by a doctor?
Grandma's crying because she got caught or she realizes she has mental issues of forgetfulness and should have said NO to babysitting
Or wants sympathy from jury
"The child". Huh?!? Cold impersonal distancing language. Why?!?!
Question as I’m in U.K. and haven’t been able to find out much does the daughter and grandmother talk I don’t know how you get pass this especially as it’s happened twice!
I remember watching something a while ago and they were at that point forgiving her to a degree they let her away with it once before so it is possible 😢
I doubt any of the family except hubby would be talking to her ever again
It seems like the mother of those babies just went on to replace them. What mother would ever leave another child they had in the care of this monster who still does not take responsible
I believe that since the death of the 2nd child they have had a 3rd?
@@katbar6066yes that’s correct. Four months old I think
the mom's 911 call was very weird and she is a little too enthusiastic about the media attention she's getting. She played with her hair on the stand like she was on stage. This family is not right
That was the other daughter on the 911 call not the mom
The child?
U mean ur grandchild?
That has a name.
Were u 2 tired of helping?
What really happened
the child 🧐 not my granddaughter 🤔
These eldery people were used as free day care for years. Seems unfair.
When she came back after lunch didn't he ask where the baby was?
This is so sad and heartbreaking. My heart goes out to all involved.
Me too.
The outcome was NOT GUILTY of manslaughter, Guilty of leaving minor unattended for more than 15 minutes. The maximum sentence for the lader is 60 days?!
60 days! Wheres the justice for a death!?!
F*cking unbelievable 😡
The mother was irresponsible to leave another child with the Alzheimer grandma
Why would the car seat be behind the driver anyway. This lady should’ve never been allowed to have any ones child again this’s horrible
this family has no respect for the court..chewing gum and the man not wearing a tie...
Hes responible to. He shouldnt allow the wife babysit
Your man allows you and doesn't allow you????
@@catherinethemba yes especially when one grandchild died on her care
😢😢 wow does he ever look grumpy. He doesn’t even see her name this family something is off. The sisters chewing gum and fixing her hair and pretending to cry but there’s no tears then she’s fixing her eyelash but still chewing gum this family something is so off About them they have no emotion none of them not even the mother of the child
She's a serial killer I believe. Of the family kind.
The whole family is odd. They are all in the wrong. Who gets someone on meds who is prone to memory loss to look after a baby, especially after she has one child die in her care already. The parents are just as off as the grandparents.
Wow “the child” these people are absolutely cold monsters. They all need to be investigated. This whole family is completely whacked.
It’s too bad that most parents don’t raise their own kids these days
Most families need two earners nowadays in order to survive.
My SIL did that. This was 1990 at the time. My in-laws just retired and were looking forward to traveling. SIL got pregnant, her husband cheated, SIL moved back home with the baby and my in-laws never got to travel, they raised her son while she enjoyed life. I'm the one they complained to, they wouldn't talk to her about it. In-laws paid for the diapers, formula, basically everything. I stayed out of it being the DIL.
Back in the day grandparents were an even bigger part of their grandchildren lives than now, I’m the only person who has ever sat fir my grandchildren and my eldest one is 16, I’m proud of that, my daughter and I do not trust anyone else. Kids need to spend time with grandparents it’s a precious relationship. Most parents have to work now and cannot afford childcare fees. So I’m afraid your was a sweeping statement
i think that the daughter is complicit. she had her daughter in a fuzzy onesie in Florida and everyone knows about dangers with cars. she left her daughter with her mother KNOWING her mother probably has some onset dementia. How could she have left a young baby unsupervised with her mom??? The mom had all the facts and LET it happen. Something about this is very, very off.
I thought grandma had been assessed and found not to have dementia/alzheimers
Same questions I have. I also just have a weird feeling whenever I see the mother and father. Something is just off.
There's something about the mom. it's just off. À Retired Psych RN 4 40 yrs, I question the judgment if there were malicious issues with another child. Logically doesn't make sense imo.
The daughters should not use their parents for baby sitters. They are too old for that job
If a child died in my care I would NEVER be responsible for another child again.
Mum and Dad I’m so very sorry. The trauma you must be feeling is devastating and no human should have to endure such torture. I don’t think I could forgive my mother if she neglected my child that lead to death
@@cathimummery6873 two children. She killed two of their babies in just over two years.
