I am not Jewish, so I felt confused and came here after watching Trisha Paytas' video where she pretended to celebrate Passover... THIS video was educational, thank you! I can't believe Trisha keeps doing this to different communities.
You educated in err by her. The Bible says they had the lamb, bitter herbs, wine and unleavened bread. This is not scriptures what she is doing. You won't find Sedar plate in the Bible, and they didn't have no egg to symbolize spring or none of that nonsense.
I see a couple of us are here after the train wreck that was Trisha paytas disrespectful video This video is so lovely and she’s so sweet! I’d like to think RUclips was like welp here’s a palate cleanser and an actual video teaching you about Passover
I'm Muslim and I find this very informative. Especially after Trisha's video... I wish you a kosher and joyous Passover in this particular time. We're also about to spend Ramadan at home. ❤️
Sammeee. The sad and pathetic part of the whole ordeal with her is she is literally ONLY into this religion now because of who she is screwing! She is so pathetic and gross.
First off let me say I clicked your video after watching Trisha Paytas's monstrosity of a seder plate video. Your's was actually informative unlike her who is just trying to get views and by being offensive... Anyway on to why I am really commenting. This might be a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway as I'm not Jewish and I am super curious after seeing this. As someone like myself who doesn't eat eggs because I don't like them would you still eat them during seder?
To answer your question Kelli, my husband and I are vegan and we made a chia egg instead bc we don't keep eggs in the house. However you don't actually eat the egg so you could use a real one if you wanted x
curiosity killed the cat! ugh i should've just trusted all ya'll comments about this girl and not even bothered to look..especially since any time one of us does that she only benefits. that video was gross and we should stop mentioning her, just reference it as the horrible Passover video with the blonde..or something? idk. i literally feel gross after watching only parts of it :/
Aww thank you so much for watching my video, I really appreciate it and thank you for your very kind comment (this little RUclips community has been such a source of comfort and virtual togetherness for me at this crazy time we're all experiencing!). I am a major believer in do what feels right to you and follow your heart to what you know is right. The egg is about thanking God for Spring and new life returning again each year so you can use something else for that symbol if it's more meaningful to you.
I'm so happy I found your videos! Our Bible study group is studying Exodus and we are going to do a Seder meal together. For many of us it is our first time. We do have a couple of Jewish people in our group, but most of us have never experienced a Seder. Thank you for all your tips on your videos. You make it seem so easy and we are so excited to remember G-d's deliverance of His people! He is always faithful and He won't forget Israel or the promises made to Avraham, Yitzak, and Yakob. Blessings and thanks!
And Matzah? I am Christian, but have respect for Jewish festivals and Shabbat, because it is all written in Holy Bible. Thanks for good ideas and explaining of all for Passover. Shabbat Shalom and Chag Pesach Sameach. Greetings from Serbia.🇷🇸
I was just reading Exodus and the Christian Bible again, This video really helped me to visualize what Passover is like 😁 super grateful for the information you shared it's awesome to learn a little bit more about your rich traditions and culture 😁😁😁
I have been married to my husband for 34 years, and I’m hosting my very first Seder this year. I am Catholic but we raised our children as Jews and I absolutely love the traditions of Judaism. My daughter is a teacher at the Jewish school in our area and also is the Hebrew school teacher for the second grade in her area. I am so proud of how she turned out. And my Catholic parents think she is wonderful that she is continuing her religion to her students. Thank you for this. It gave me some ideas on how to host my Seder. I think instead of a regular roasted egg, I might take a colored egg and roast it LOL
Shalom Marion, thank you for the tutorial.... i hope many more people will celebrate Pesach, for it is one of His Moedim. It`s no coincidence people are kept from attending church for easter-sunday. Please stay healthy. May Adonai bless and keep you and your household.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO ❤️❤️❤️❤️💗. YOUR VIDEO IS THE BEST!!!!! YOU REALLY SIMPLIFIED THE SEDER PLATE FOR ME. NOW I DON'T FEEL SO FRANTIC DOING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
Thank you. I was looking at a Jewish deli menu and saw their passover catering menu. I wondered about some of the items - what they were, how they were pronounced and why they were on the menu. It is not a coincidence that I came upon this video and you answered the questions I had. May God bless you and your family.
Happy Passover from Israel!💙🌿Horseradish is literally 'hazeret' in Hebrew. Bitter herbs go on 'carpas' which is celery and 'maror' which is lettuce... even though it's not always bitter.
Thanks for simplifying the lamb bone issue for me. I will definitely be using a chicken leg one to replace the lamb one this year. Great job as always Marion!
Isamar Garrido seriously! My shank bones cost a fortune! For my daughters practice Seder the kids used tiny chicken wing drummettes. They were adorable!
I’m doing a vegetarian version with the boiled egg. Kale. Parsley. Charoset. And roasted potatoes and mix veggies in place of the meat. Then a matza ice box cake made with a home made pudding layer. This will be my families first Passover but since we are mostly plant based I have to sub some items.
My Jewish Mommy Life she’s a whole nut case, you’re soo sweet but you shouldn’t be flattered😒 she’s a troll an offends many communities with her nonsense.
The chicken leg is a smart idea. We are a chicken every Shabbos kind of family and I save the neck bone that comes in the Shor Habor whole chicken packets that I buy. I usually keep them in the freezer to save for homemade stock but roast them for the seder plate when pesach comes around. Waste not want not.
Chava Rosen my mother has been known to freeze her lamb shank to use from year to year, or one roasted earlier in the year. We also normally save our bones for stock! 😊
That's looks very nice. Refined & gentile. My preference though is the rough & ready approach = 1 x spring Lamb whole, 1 x Matzo per person, 1 x big basket of various bitter herbs, heavy on the mint. No sauce, no condiment. Staple dish of the nomad.
You are such a pleasure to listen to! And you are also so knowledgeable and giving this valuable lesson in such easy to understand way, explaining the history/story behind it! You are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing in such beautiful way! God Bless you, sweet and beautiful girl, and your family!
What a very lovely comment , and I agree with you . Bless your heart . This video is my first introduction to the Seder traditions . I am of a different faith , but it's never to late to be educated !! 👵🏼 ❤️🙏🏼
Beautiful 💞💓!! I would just like to ask however, if it’s possible for you film your Passover Seder? I’d love to see the entire Passover ritual, including the prayers and everything. I’m sure I’m not the only one!❤️
I will definitely try to capture a few clips and maybe do a vlog if I can! I filmed snippets from last year if you're interested but it's more about how I prepped that morning: ruclips.net/video/_bJkgIV8x-s/видео.html
My Jewish Mommy Life I watched last years Passover vlog as well😂😂 the actual ritual is the interesting part however, so if you can, please try your best!
Everyone usually receives their own plate which they'll eat throughout the Passover story. (The only thing you don't eat is the centrepiece plate, it's just there for show!)
This is great. My whole family did ancestry DNA tests and confirmed the rumor that my father’s father’s father was Jewish, but converted to Christianity when he married my great grandmother. So my dad is 1/4, I’m 1/8, and my daughter is 1/16. I’d love to do this for both my dad and daughter, but aren’t there recitation to go along after each food is eaten? Where can I find that?
Came here from the Trisha Paytas video (like most people apparently), but I stayed because it was informative and interesting. I've got a lot of Jewish friends so every little bit helps towards better connecting and understanding between us. Also you have one of the sweetest voices I've heard!
Great video, really good explanations and you have a great camera presence! Just one suggestion: you’re using a beautiful Seder plate, metal with glass, but you have a very busy background ( the counter). The plate would pop out much more if you used a neutral solid color on the background, some darker shade of blue or something like that. Keep up the good work, you’re doing great!
Totally agree lol I actually really really want white countertops, one day! But in the meantime I can film on cleaner surfaces so thank you for letting me know it would be better for the viewer!
Happy you like my suggestion. I'll be happy to help with more video tips if you would like. That is actually what I specialize in, video marketing. Please let me know.
Do you have a Seder plate every night for 7 day’s & when do you eat the un leaved bread with the meal ? Also, is there a pray we should mention along with the passover?
This was probably my worst Yom Tov. I legit had to Kashered a entire Catering business for Pesach. I also worked 80 hours in a week leading up to Pesach as the Mashgiach..Let's just say I fell asleep after the first glass of wine. : ( I literally don't remember reading the Haggadah.. ugh ...

Hey! This may be a stupid question, but for the Chametz - when we clean out all leaven from the home - do packets of yeast count? ..Is that even a thing? Or does it only count for already baked bread? That thought just hit me this year, and I don't see anyone addressing that question on google :)
I am a Christian but I want to celebrate Passover. If you have several people does each person take a bite and pass or does each person eat The Whole cup ?
1 thing. you should put a chiken wing instead of the leg. It says in the Hagada: ביד חזקה ובזרוע נטויה" meaning, with a strong hand all-mighty took us out of Egypt. Not strong leg

This was ACTUALLY educational. If anything, Trisha’s video made people search for this and other videos. So her misinformation may not be AS widespread.
Matzah doesn't actually go on the Seder plate, it has it's own special place usually in a cloth bag with three pieces that are used during the Seder and then extra around the table to eat.
Hmmm. Eggs for spring? I was taught that the egg is representative of a poor man’s meal. That in Halakha it was considered fit for a meal for the poorest of Jews. Nothing to do with the pagan Spring fertility traditions

Do you give every one a sederplate?
I’m here after the Trisha video lol
So glad you're here!
Love this video...
But as an Israeli, im pretty sure you mixed up the Hazeret and the Maror
❤️
OMG I probably did lol I have an old video where I used a zayin instead of a gimmel once in Hebrew and still get comments on it!

No problem, let me know if you need any help! 😊
where is the unleven bread? matza?
Matzah doesn't actually go on the Seder plate, it has it's own special place usually in a cloth bag with three pieces that are used during the Seder and then extra around the table to eat.
your Seder Plate is beautiful!
Thank you!
Hmmm. Eggs for spring? I was taught that the egg is representative of a poor man’s meal. That in Halakha it was considered fit for a meal for the poorest of Jews. Nothing to do with the pagan Spring fertility traditions
