Not speaking on this school specifically, but on the (mainly white suburban) marching bands in general, this switch from technical drills and popular songs to more pretentious shows and theater arts looking stuff is what makes marching band suck now. If I were at my high school now instead of when I actually went, there's no way I would have marched.

They just made state contest for the first time since 2016 so that's pretty cool
