    Thank you very much for plugging our company RetroSpec Creations, LLC. It means a lot to us and as you very well know this time of year people are buying these by the hundreds. Been doing this for 12 years now and it took us a couple of years to see why sales jumped in September and early October.

    Allow me to add some very helpful hints for 2024 and beyond since I just finished my first panel. You can use cheap paint for the 2x2 wood strips but do not use it on the PVC . It’ll come right off if you bump the painted pvc up against any other object. I learned the hard way when I painted PVC for a different project. You need to buy the Krylon 3 in 1 multi surface paint which will adhere to the PVC. It’s not cheap and for four panels it was roughly $75-$100 just for the paint. Again, you can save a little money by using the cheap stuff on the wood which didn’t occur to me until it was too late. Make sure to paint on the grass or driveway since the paint leaves a sort of paint dust which will cover everything that is nearby. The dust won’t stick to anything but will need to be hosed off. I also had a very difficult time trying to attach the ¾ inch finial to the ½ pvc even after heating. Knowing I needed to do at least 50, I had to to put my brain into overdrive. I got out my orbital sander and tried sanding the edges of the PVC for 10-15 seconds before heating. After sanding they went on quite easily.

      Thanks for the tips. If you want to ou can, but I would not spend that much for the paint. I used the cheap stuff which is like $2 something a can and that will work. I have used our fences for a few seasons now and the paint has held up. If I see some marks I will touch it up.

    love your video and building 12 sections of your 8 foot fence design for this Halloween. your video was very detail in describing exactly what you use/the price/and where you got it from. which helps me price out how much it will run me to build. only thing you left out was the rebar size to secure the fence to the ground. do you use 2ft/3ft/4ft?

    • @halloweenatthemanor8450
      @halloweenatthemanor8450  Год назад +1

      You can use 2Ft Rebar. I attach my fence sections to columns so the column and rebar keep them secure. If you don't have columns, you may want to use either 3ft or 4ft rebar.

    • @halloweenatthemanor8450

      Usually use 2ft rebar. Sometimes 4ft pieces if you really want to add extra stability. Im not sure if the diameter, but a piece of 1/2 inch PVC will slide over it. You just hammer the rebar into the ground and slide the fence on it

    What’s the best way to connect the sections so that they’re easy to take apart for storage. I did 4’ sections. Curiosity question…where do you store your stuff? My husband wants to cover it with a tarp on the side of the house, but not sure if it would ruin them.
    Thank you!!!

      I just put a screw toward the top and bottom to secure the sections. You can use a 2 1/2 inch screw. We store the fences in the garage. I have seen other people leave them outside covered by a tarp.

      You probably could depending on where you live. However, I don't know how this would hold up if it were out year round. You might want to use pressure treated wood instead of just the normal 2X2's I used in the video. Probably would want to invest in some better paint as well. I just buy the cheap stuff since we only have this out during the haunt season.
