- The Smurfs 2 - The Prisoner of the Green Stone is a 3D adventure title that sticks to tried and tested mechanics. What's more, it has plenty of monsters, loads of crystals, and some simple puzzles. As such, it'll entertain you even if it occasionally outstays its welcome.
Available on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

I got the first one for like 5 bucks on Steam. Surprisingly enjoyable. Will pick this up on the cheap too.
It's well worth it. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll like what's on offer with the sequel.

Don't believe all the hate. This game is pretty decent. It evolves into something better, and it gets much harder. In the beginning, it seems like it targets a younger audience.
I think it's because people enjoyed its predecessor so much.

I will never understand why people always expect more out of a game. Reviewers said the same thing with Mario Wonder about it's repetitiveness and same old 2D platforming gameplay aside from the wonder flowers, the singing level segments and Daisy being added. They "wanted more" out of it and an increased challenge. All of this while FromSoft fanboys will hypocritically praise literally every FromSoft game or souls-like game for it's same old dull and repetitive dodging, grandpa combat and challenge. Elden Ring is open world. That's the only big difference about it. It's still the same old Dark Souls crap, but we're getting off topic here. I was comparing apples to apples and exposing hypocrisy from a lot of people.
First, thanks for the review. I've already played the original game and loved it. I immediately boight this game and love it just as much and already knew what I was getting into. It's a $40 (US price) so players should already expect the same thing with some different changes here and there. I don't mind the repeated voice-acting soundbites. Nothing wrong with them imo. The lengthy levels are fine too since they were in the first game. Of course the story is cliche and childish, wtf was anyone expecting? Some dull grimdark emotional crap storyline? It's the Smurfs, of course it's gonna have a childish storyline. People expect way too much out of simple storytelling nowadays... The only thing I agree with you on is the appeal. It definitely won't appeal to a massive audience with it being the Smurfs, a family-friendly franchise, however the original game did well enough to get a sequel so that says a lot already.
Wow, quite the lengthy comment. People like a challenge as it extends the gaming experience. As such, A demand for an increased challenge isn't a bad thing. However, I understand why reading this in plenty of reviews could be frustrating.
The lengthy levels were fine but as I explained I'd have liked them broken down into smaller segments. Had this have happened, it would have been more manageable for younger gamers.
Repetitive soundbites annoy many gamers but as you rightly point out, it was the same in the first game and it is of course the Smurfs.
Regarding the clichéd story, this was to be expected. Yet, it has to be mentioned as it is a core part of the game. Much like the TV series, it follows a familiar pattern to keep the audience happy.
I appreciate you watching the review and I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

it really does look like a smurf themed ratchet and clank game
I think it would have been more successful if it was as well polished as R&C.

It is crazy to me that a proven IP that prints money can not be nailed down. Medieval fantasy dragons, knights, witches from the perspective of antman. There…cut my check!😅

The game is fine, not bad, it just feels rushed, there are so many bugs like dialogue not playing and the visual don’t match the dialogues
The only noticeable glitch I found with the dialogue was a section of French writing 😂.
