Kiffin isn't leaving Oxford. This is the least amount of pressure he's ever had. He can absolutely spend 15 years or more winning 8 to 10 games a season, cherry picking borderline NFL talent from the transfer portal, and playing spoiler in a wide open race for second place in the SEC. He's going to be remembered historically as an Ole' Miss coach. SC and Tennessee aren't going to be part of what defines him.

    • @jasonreynolds6047

This. People who aren't local to Oxford don't see how attached Kiffin is to Oxford. Kids, extended family. Today's Kiffin is a different, dare I say, more mature Kiffin than the one that coached at SC/TN etc.

Oxford is a top 15 in NIL nationwide and top 10 in coach pay for all coaches not just head coach. Florida has been rebuilding since the early 2010s. Why leave a well established program to go to a fix me up? Plus Lane can be Lane in Oxford. He is respected here and his players are embraced time and time again at the Grove. This was even before the 10 win season of last year.

Graham Mertz was not the problem last year, but he most definitely was a huge problem last week. He missed several open throws for long gains or touchdowns. If the OL was 1a, Billy's playcalling was 1b, Mertz's performance was 1c.
Also, the fact that you're touting Mullen's record and not what was actually happening in the program is proof that you really don't know anything about the Gators.

As a UF fan, Absolutely not. We don’t have a university president right now. Our AD is incompetent and our boosters don’t pay nil like they should or they spend in the wrong places (like renovations for the swamp which is fine). Ole miss isn’t dumb, they knew they had to take football real serious because lane is a good coach and bigger brands would want him. Thats what they have done to this point. Also Lane has coached at Tenn, he has coached at USC. I don’t think he wants that headache anymore. Realistically Uf fans no real big name coach is coming. I'm bookmarking this video, just to circle back to it in the winter when Kiffin has accepted the Florida job.
I don't disagree that Ole Miss presents more job security. But once Ole Miss drops 2-3 games during the regular season (one of them to Georgia) and they fail to make the SEC Championship, he's going to realize that this is Ole Miss's ceiling as a football program. He's already unhappy with the fans for leaving the home games early. He's currently a top 9 highest paid head coach, but he'd at least become a top 4 highest paid HC at Florida (no income tax by the way). He'll also have a legitimate chance to win a championship at a program that, for all of its more recent flaws, has won three of them in the last 30 years.

@@rickrhoden1 ....and Ole Myth has been down FOR GENERATIONS!! One decent season doesn't put you in the upper tier of college football. Ole Myth has NEVER, and I said NEVER, been to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game whereas Florida has been 13 times. Furthermore, Ole Myth last won the SEC in football 61 years ago. In that same 61 years, Florida has won the SEC in football 9 times. The reasons above is why I say it is DELUSIONAL to think that Ole Myth's name/brand is on the same level or greater than Florida.

@willhopson1277 as an alabama fan I have always loved Lane Kiffin and his playstyle. I would whole heartedly welcome him onto the alabama staff. Auburn could really use a coach like lane in my opinion. Lane wouldn't let that booster club auburn has walk over him and micromanage every decision he makes. Which I believe is auburns biggest problem.

Billy set the Gators up to Fail in spectacular Fashion *!*!* no one would sign up a schedule to play 8 ranked teams when they aren't even ranked.. he was thinking I'm getting fired so I'm burning down the ship and sinking the 10yrs of the Team as his revenge for getting fired this season.. premeditated fosho.. evil genius... he is fired and knows it unless they go 10-3 or whatever. But witg this schedule and his style not happening on this scale... well played.. can't believe the University signed off on his schedule picks. Last 5wks all heavy hitters. Thanks for noting.. but i love the Gators, and this is another season gone before we even start... i actually said this before tge season started. It was all pre planned..wake uo people. No one in their right mind, would make a schedule this hard when in hot seat. So logically it was planned butn down the ship . Bahaha i hate it.. but makes total sense of all reasons in today's world seems normal. 😂
